We were so glad that we called into the Kings Arms on New Years's Day. I had the macaroni cheese and my husband had the chicken stuffed with haggis and bacon. Both meals were absolutely delicious, piping hot and generous in size. Great value for money. The staff and locals were very welcoming. Generally a lovely atmosphere. We also loved... More

Called in here for a quick lunch as we knew there was a new chef and menu. My wife and daughter had lovely cream of mushroom soup and really nice prawn sandwich. I had macaroni cheese accompanied by chips and plentiful side salad. Much better than previous visits and good value. Well worth a visit

The blackboard outside clearly states that food is available until 8.30pm. But when some friends and I called in last night at 8.10pm, we were told that the kitchen closed at 8pm. Very poor service from the staff, who were evidently more interested in entertaining their friends and their baby than offering any kind of hospitality.

We stayed upstairs in one of the rooms recently. While not large, the room was clean and comfy and breakfast was good! We ate dinner at the hotel and really enjoyed our simple, generous, homestyle meals. Not fine dining, but good honest food served by lovely friendly people. On the downside, I come from a country where no dining room,... More

Decided on the last minute to go out for a birthday meal, didn't feel like travelling too far so thought we'd try this one in Lockerbie as it's such a long time since we were last in. I have to say, the service was excellent and the food served was delicious, piping hot and lots of it. Very pleasant evening... More

We took our son, daughter in law and grand children for Saturday lunch. Four of us were dis-satisfied with our meals. I ordered steak pie and got stew with a bit of separate puff pastry. My son ordered a curry which he said was just a spicy stew and not curry. It should have had nan bread and poppadoms with... More

Visited this little place last night with my wife and 5 year old son. I often find pubs are quite reluctant when it comes to kids but they were most welcoming. Of your looking for Michelin star foods then this isn't the place. However, if your looking for good quality, hearty, home cooked food then this is the place for... More
