We stayed upstairs in one of the rooms recently. While not large, the room was clean and comfy and breakfast was good! We ate dinner at the hotel and really enjoyed our simple, generous, homestyle meals. Not fine dining, but good honest food served by lovely friendly people. On the downside, I come from a country where no dining room,... More

Decided on the last minute to go out for a birthday meal, didn't feel like travelling too far so thought we'd try this one in Lockerbie as it's such a long time since we were last in. I have to say, the service was excellent and the food served was delicious, piping hot and lots of it. Very pleasant evening... More

We took our son, daughter in law and grand children for Saturday lunch. Four of us were dis-satisfied with our meals. I ordered steak pie and got stew with a bit of separate puff pastry. My son ordered a curry which he said was just a spicy stew and not curry. It should have had nan bread and poppadoms with... More

Visited this little place last night with my wife and 5 year old son. I often find pubs are quite reluctant when it comes to kids but they were most welcoming. Of your looking for Michelin star foods then this isn't the place. However, if your looking for good quality, hearty, home cooked food then this is the place for... More

We have a never ending battle trying to find somewhere to eat where we can take both child and dog. This place is great. Two bar areas - one that allows dogs, one that doesn't. Good menu-basic pub grub and price ok. Family friendly too. A relief on a cold, wet Scottish day.

I have eaten here perhaps monthly over the past 2 years and the ambience and service are a perfect mixture of informal yet efficient. However, the food is consistently wonderful and sourced locally. While the steak in their steak pies is just so tender yet wholesome, tonight I'd the most delicious and flaky salmon fillet. I was so impressed I... More

Four of us called in on Saturday evening for something to eat having been recommended by staff at a nearby hotel. My son went to the bar to order drinks only to be told to take a seat and someone would come over and take our order. We sat for 15 minutes and not a member of staff appeared to... More

We go quite often to the Kings Arms, the food is great and the staff are very helpful. Great value for money.

Had a meal this evening with a family member, although the restaurant was empty except from us the place was very comfortable and immaculate. The staff/owners were friendly, there was some great oldies played and a good selection of lagers on offer. We initially looked at a selected savers menu and although we were half an hour over the 'special... More
