Without Prejudice A girl friend and I had lunch here on Friday 13th!! Of March, while the ambiance and service was excellent and the staff where welcoming and polite. I had the Slow roasted belly of pork served with potato crisps, French bean and Parma ham bundles, poached pear & honey glazed fig with a port and balsamic reduction. £13.25 The... More

Lovely modern pub with separate out building of hotel rooms. We were staying due to going on a super car driving experience in the local area the following day. The staff were welcoming & friendly on arrival. Our room was very clean, spacious, looked brand new & modern. Bathroom was lovely too. Top quality, - even down to the complimentary... More

We have not visited this restaurant with accommodation for some time but the choice of food was excellent and the quality when it arrived even better. The bar has an extensive choice of beers lagers and wines and the service was excellent. Worthwhile booking in advance. Highly recommended.

Decided to stay here to break-up a seven hour journey and ultimately wished we had just driven down to Exeter from Durham all the way on Thursday. The Royal Oak was set in a lovely location and the bedrooms were set back from the pub. The pub was very nice and we had an enjoyable evening meal and breakfast on... More

Pleasant renovated village pub with "motel type" rooms behind. Always busy. The food is tasty and produced with a lot more care and thought than the usual pub food, a talented chef. Not cheap by the standards of the area two courses and a bottle of Merlot came to just under £80 for two but if you are looking for... More

We visited The Royal Oak recently for lunch, this is the fourth or fifth time that we have visited in the last year and every time we visit and whatever we eat from the menu, we are not disappointed. Good service provided by friendly staff, good variety on the menu, decent beer choice at the bar and it represents decent... More

Typical gastro pub, fine if that is your liking, reasonable beer selection of average quality. Expensive food and wine. We will not rush to visit again.

New kids menu since we last ate here. I did like the concept that children could choose half portion of adult menu but I have to admit it was useful to have the option of fish and chips to offer to the children. The food is really nice pub food, well cooked and nicely presented - amazing fat chips! We... More
