From the start to the end of the meal there were issues. First of all the waitresses did not take our order until asked. The empty glasses were not removed until the end of the meal. Not one member of staff come over to ask if anything else was needed or if everything was ok during the meal. The desserts... More

Stopped by for an impromptu lunch after a lovely walk at Herringfleet. Had heard the place had changed hands, so not sure what to expect. We were really impressed: the decor is lovely and the service was really friendly and efficient. There was a good choice on the bar menu. We both had the fish and chips, the fish was... More

We've had lunch twice here in the last month after walking our dog. It was excellent. So we decided to desert our other regular every Friday for the last 5 years St Olaves restaurant and give the Dukes Head a try for the evening meal. My partner had the sea bass. I had the belly pork. Both were the best... More

I recently had a 3 course meal here and it was superb!! The food was 5 star and we and my partner both had steak cooked to perfection. Its the little things that made it stand out, like the pate and sliced warm bread, the bread was cut into perfect little circles. The dip that came with the selection of... More

We ate here for lunch, after wanting to try this place for a little while. On entering the pub on a November day, were very welcomed to find the fire burning and a lovely atmosphere and thought this will be really nice. However, we are sorry to say we were disappointed. We were sat near the open kitchen and could... More

Called in for lunch following a good squint at Somerleyton Hall and as this was very local, thought we would give it a go. First impressions - strange, plenty of cars in the car park but although the main restaurant area was pretty full, there was little noise, no sound of conversation and the place felt empty. Little atmosphere. Service... More

we called in for evening meal - four of us and a small dog! Lovely friendly staff and nice homely atmosphere. No complaints whatsoever about the food. Everything was well cooked, nicely presented and tasted delicious. I cannot understand the negative reviews - maybe we hit lucky! I would recommend without hesitation.

We were recommended The Duke's Head but were not impressed at all by our visit there 18-8-13. Firstly the pint of prawns that were mushy and smelt awful, the cromer crab was off too and the pate wasn't fit for a dog. We sent these back and ordered a presumably safe bet of a roast beef dinner only to find... More
