We were travelling between Key Haven and Lymington on new electric bikes using the many little footpaths that cross Keyhaven Nature Reserve when we came across this PH . The staff were friendly and helpful and the chef agreed to cook us some lunch even though we were a bit too early. The portion sizes were rather too large but... More

We were staying at the campsite and walked to the pub. Just as well as parking is very limited! We were seated in the marquee area which was cosy and light. The food was excellent and plentiful although the whole table got theirs at different times which was annoying for the children who were very hungry. Must say smiles on... More

Having lived in the Lymington area many years ago without ever going to the Chequers, I visited for the first time last evening. Parking is quite awkward as there are only half a dozen spaces at the front and the lane outside the pub is so narrow that parking on the verge is quite tricky without blocking the road. The... More

I was looking forward to visiting this pub, having seen it earlier when wandering around the Lymington area. Parking can be a little difficult. The layout of the pub is interesting and quite likeable. There's a courtyard where you come in from the road, and then you go through the pub to get into the nice walled garden (crappy garden... We ate at the Chequers today having never been there before with my other half, great grandma and our two children (1 and 3yrs) and the plus points are that the portions are huge and really nice piping hot food. I have to agree with another review that if you're not a regular you seem to be treated slightly differently.... More

If you enjoy the old type pub scene then this is the place for you. Friendly courteous staff with a good menu. There are also daily specials. A busy popular pub.

We visited this pub twice during our week-long break in Lymington, as it was just around the corner. The food was very good, with immense (but too large) food portions. Don't order a starter each - agree on one between the two of you. At dinner, I had the excellent, tender pork belly, while our friends had the yummy lamb... More

My husband and I were camping locally and strolled to this pub for an evening meal. Lots to dishes to choose from on the menu, and varied price range, but we opted for the Sirloin Steaks, served with vegetables and new potatoes, it was delicious and was a good size. Had planned on having a desert, but were full up.... More

We have been here every time we have camped locally. This time with 2 children. The food was great fish pie special fantastic and we were made to feel welcome. Beer good and cider selection even better. It's a busy pub and has its own character.

Great pub in a quiet location just outside of Lymington. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get to. We had a great lunch there with drinks and food for under £20 for 2 people. I am, of course, a returning Chequers fan, mainly because my mum used to work there (??? years ago) and... More
