We visited this pub twice during our week-long break in Lymington, as it was just around the corner. The food was very good, with immense (but too large) food portions. Don't order a starter each - agree on one between the two of you. At dinner, I had the excellent, tender pork belly, while our friends had the yummy lamb... More

My husband and I were camping locally and strolled to this pub for an evening meal. Lots to dishes to choose from on the menu, and varied price range, but we opted for the Sirloin Steaks, served with vegetables and new potatoes, it was delicious and was a good size. Had planned on having a desert, but were full up.... More

We have been here every time we have camped locally. This time with 2 children. The food was great fish pie special fantastic and we were made to feel welcome. Beer good and cider selection even better. It's a busy pub and has its own character.

Great pub in a quiet location just outside of Lymington. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get to. We had a great lunch there with drinks and food for under £20 for 2 people. I am, of course, a returning Chequers fan, mainly because my mum used to work there (??? years ago) and... More

I was at the Chequers Inn on 14th July. It was fantastic to see our visitors return for another Summer in the New Forest. So, I am unsure as to why Nicki N posted Unwelcome. This has never happened in all the Years I have been visiting the Chequers. I guess you can't please everyone all the time!

A group of us went here for drinks and lunch after being recommended by the nearby campsite. Our business clearly wasn't appreciated. We were greeted with unsmiling faces and the comment' here come the campsite then'. The children, who honestly were very well behaved, were obviously not welcome and we actually heard a staff member say ' we should get... More

A pub that would attract all ages, families or singles. Lovely country setting with nice outside area which had an outside bar and speakers which didn't deafen you. Seating could be for large or smaller parties. The food was very good with cheaper options on the menu and a good variety to choose from. Very popular with locals and visitors... More

Great pub, dogs welcome, proper pub food well priced. What a nice change, proper country pub, last time we visited in the winter the log burner was on, this time we eat in the court yard, friendly staff and landlord has a refreshing sense of humour! Proper English pub

Great traditional pub in a nice quiet location. Very pleasant garden at the rear to relax in. Good selection of beers and food menu. Well patronised by the locals. A great stop off point after a walk along the Solent Way and the salt marshes. Dog friendly. Plenty of different areas of the pub to enjoy. Can get very busy... More

Says it all. Better than it has ever been. Great beers and great food and superb hosting by a lovely mix of staff ages. Young enthusiasms tempered by age and experience. Bring it on. I will be back
