We went to the pub on a beautiful Saturday morning when our bird spotting path happened to pass it at 12.30. Was there ever a better omen. We did not eat, but the beer was excellent and we sat at the bar so were in a position to see and hear all that went on. The service was very good... More

Having moved to Australia 16 years ago this is the sort of English pub that I miss most. Great range of beers & ciders and good honest food albeit a tad pricey. A yachtie venue most of the year round and no one bats an eyelid if you bring your dog in to enjoy the fire. Love it and want... More

Stumbled upon this very busy pub on a day out in the New Forest. Had to park up the road as the car park was full. The lunch menu was varied and ordered after waiting a few minutes for a spare table. Food was ok but not very appetising when it arrived. Plenty of dogs in the restaurant area.

This pub has a lot going for it: the staff are friendly, the ambience good and there is a garden out the back to soak up the sun. We went for a lunchtime snack and a beer. The food was disappointing: the menu prices were net of VAT (so the food was more expensive than expected, £7.50 for a simple... More

There was plenty of space at this pub, and we sat outside to eat on a warm day in October. Food was good, fish pie and burger especially. Welcoming.

Having just returned from The Chequers ....we will never go back! The staff are not very welcoming and the food....well where do I start? My partner ordered the burger and it looked good but after eating it he started to feel unwell and spent the afternoon on the loo! I ordered Chilli Con Carni which came out looking blander than... We enjoyed our meal at this Inn very much. Having arrived around 9 pm (after a 30 minute walk from another Inn suggested by our B & B hostess but closed for meals that evening), we were rather concerned that we would be too late to obtain a meal. However, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a comprehensive menu, great... More

We were travelling between Key Haven and Lymington on new electric bikes using the many little footpaths that cross Keyhaven Nature Reserve when we came across this PH . The staff were friendly and helpful and the chef agreed to cook us some lunch even though we were a bit too early. The portion sizes were rather too large but... More

We were staying at the campsite and walked to the pub. Just as well as parking is very limited! We were seated in the marquee area which was cosy and light. The food was excellent and plentiful although the whole table got theirs at different times which was annoying for the children who were very hungry. Must say smiles on... More

Having lived in the Lymington area many years ago without ever going to the Chequers, I visited for the first time last evening. Parking is quite awkward as there are only half a dozen spaces at the front and the lane outside the pub is so narrow that parking on the verge is quite tricky without blocking the road. The...
