Not your modern sleek lines chain, but a well run country inn. Staff very friendly, couldnt ask for better service. Had a meat platter to share which was well laid out. These platters seem to be all the rage at the moment. Some tasty choices on the board as well. Can recommend the seafood linguine which was packed full of... More

We were in the New Forest for 3 nights and had all our evening meals here, it was a 10 minute walk from where we were staying, all staff very friendly and helpful especially the young man who showed us to our table, took orders for food and drink. My husband went for the large steak pie on the first... More

I stopped by this gem with my girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. Traditional pub food freshly prepared to an excellent standard. My only regret is not being able to try more of the menu.

We stopped here on our way to Bournemouth. We had phoned ahead and booked a table for the seven of us for lunch. The choice of meals was extensive and the food was excellent quality. The meals were very generous portions and very good quality. The staff were very welcoming and very friendly. Highly recommended.

I've had meals here in the past and not been very impressed, however this is where my Nan chose for Sunday lunch. And a delicious Sunday roast it was. With a choice of 3 different meats, delightful potatoes and a variety of vegetables, I was impressed. The service was both prompt and friendly. Will definitely return!

We went for Sunday lunch based on recent reviews however although the food looked good it lacked flavour. For example I opted for duck confit and toast with red onion chutney. The duck had no real flavour the chutney consisted of cooked red onion only definitely not a chutney. The liver with potato dauphinoise looked good again but was just... More

Judging by the reviews, against all the odds they have made a success of it! Once again I wish them well.

We had scallops with chorizo to start, this was fabulous, as good as we have had anywhere. I had venison bourginion and my husband had burger with chips for main meals. Both really good. Staff were lovely. Big portions. The man behind the bar gave us pork crackling when we went up to the bar to order drinks! Fantastic. Really... More

Read the reviews on here and as we had just arrived on holiday, decided to try it. So glad we did. Very friendly service, and wonderful home made food. My husband had a steak that was perfectly cooked and very tender, my venison bourginonne was excellent, and both our boys enjoyed their dinner. We hope to go back later in... More
