Really Wanted To Like It But...

Visited with husband, he had been several times before and said how good it was. My first gripe was that the window seats we were given are incredibly uncomfortable for the person actually in the window as there is an up stand on the edge of the seat keeping the cushions in place and this really... read more

We visited this place after walking for a while and fancied a beer. The barman is a great guy with great conversation and could sell ice to an Eskimo. The choice of beers and lagers is great. We had a steak which was served on hot rocks with chips and salad. It was great. Sweet steak with delicious sides.

On a lunchtime break, I thought a club sandwich would be fairly quick and easy. It was just too slow. One girl serving, presumably a chef making. It was lovely, tasty, worth the wait. Good coffee.

Finding a hair in your food is always a mistake and always awkward to point out. However when I did so, the waitress tried telling me it was just fluff and she doesn't know who's it could be. Despite none of the staff were wearing a hair net. As she took my plate away she sighed and rolled her eyes.... More

We arrived in Lymington's Berthon marina after dark and were looking for a way through to the road. Someone offer to let us through Fine Food 4 Sail and the food smelt so good we eat there. It was hot stone night so we all had steak. Beer was OK, not absolutely sure about the technology involved with the Guinness!

Visited here for lunch with a friend, very friendly staff and relaxed informal atmosphere. I chose the courgette & feta cheese fritters which were absolutely delicious, very light and tasty. My friend opted for the omelette which was served with a salad and fries, she was also very pleased with her selection. We finished with coffee, no room for anything... More

We have often walked past this cafe and, to be frank, the location and outlook has put us off stopping. However on Saturday lunchtime we decided to give it a try. So we ordered the squash soup with crusty bread. The place was not at all busy and our soups arrived fairly quickly. My wife's soup was piping hot while... More

If you are arriving in Lymington by boat, this is probably easier to find. If, like me you're on foot.. It's a bit hidden away... It is well worth discovering though. I work in Southampton in the week and stay in Lymington, in a hotel. As a result I've been to every restaurant on the high street and don't want... More

The food was nice, well cooked and well presented but service just a little slow we thought and one or two of the orders (8 of us) were in a muddle. Quality of the food was very good though and both food & wine reasonably priced. While the service was a little slow the staff were very nice and very... More
