1970's pub food, sauces out of a bottle or tin. Service nothing special. Have had much better food elsewhere for similar price. Won't go back

Having read some of the recent reviews, I just wanted to check that I was definitely reviewing the same pub as other recent customers - and I am! I can't believe how different our experience was which was nothing but great from start to finish. Staying on a short break at Shorefield Country Park a very short drive away, we... More

having eaten here before, we came back under new owner ship. oh were we disappointed. slow surly waitresses, overcooked dry food and very expensive drinks. service was slow and at no point were we asked if everything was ok etc. very expensive for what we had and that might explain why it wasn't very full. surroundings ok, but everything else... The restaurant interior looks very nice, but that's where it stops. We were not greeted upon arriving and had to ask the bar man for a table to be told "yeah wherever". It was at least 20 mins before anyone came to us with menus or offering drinks. It took over an hour from arriving before our food eventually arrived.... More

My friend and I visited this pub last week for lunch, the whole meal was a disaster. Our starter was supposed to be salmon prawns and cod with a herb Mayo, sounds great. What came was a mushed up pile of nothing distinguishable. My main was not what I ordered and my friends ham egg and chips looked awful! However the... More

Whenever we visited this pub to eat Sunday lunch, we waited for nearly an hour to be served. We ate in there on Sunday 17th August and the food was disgusting! The service was deplorable and we will not be going again.

Together with my wife and daughter, we stopped for lunch on Sunday 17th August 2013 at 13.30 hrs On arrival we were totally ignored by the waitress and so we found and sat at a table My wife then asked the waitress if the table could be wiped over. Her surly response was totally unwelcoming and she went off and... More

Having gone to this pub while holidaying at Shorefield over the last 15 or so years we were sorely disappointed this year to find yet another change of ownership and a VERY basic pub menu on offer! They had Gammon Egg and Chips on the specials menu! This pub used to have locally sourced fresh fish at the heart of... More
