Visited this restaurant on Saturday evening. Telephoned in advance to book a table and the person I spoke to helpfully told me that payment had to be made in cash and that I could bring my own wine or beer. Received a very warm welcome, a handshake upon arrival and shown quickly to a table. Although not licensed to sell... More

Walked in where it was freezing cold and they did not seem busy at all however we had to make ourselves known. We got a seat but no drink orders were taken. We had to ask for our drinks and a few poppadoms. The drinks finally turned up however it then looked like it got busy on their takeaway side... More

A really nice place. If your ordering over the phone or sitting in it doesn't make a difference to the level of service you receive from the staff. There is always a hand shake and a hello/goodbye and a door held open. Food is lovely. Just bring your own alcohol if you want a glass of wine with your meal... More

I have visited Red India a few times, the most recent time December 2014 with my family. Everyone seems to receive a warm welcome. As a family we rarely book ahead and just tend to turn up - this does not seem to be a problem as they pull out all the stops to find you a table. They have... More

My husband and I ate here after reading so many good reviews on Tripadvisor. I am happy to say that we weren't disappointed. The food was very fresh, very well presented and really tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive. We wouldn't hesitate to eat here again next time we visit this area.

Friendly staff, not over attentive, attractive restaurant and excellent food - great choice of unusual veggie dishes, good 'special rice', naan and piratha excellent. Recommended, but as it hasn't got an alcohol license take your tipple with you - if you don't, there is an off licence a few yards away.

Well, the Red India was recommended to us by some lovely folk in a pub in the square. We were warned to take a bottle, which we did, and there's a Tesco around the corner if you need more. The food was slightly more expensive than I'm used to but quality and flavour were both amazing. Also a lovely warm... More

Not being a huge fan of Indian food, as I have a low tolerance to hot food, I agreed to treat my husband by agreeing to go for a curry. The problem is I don't like the creamy mild dishes so want a medium one, which are normally too hot, and I am disappointed and hungry. I was so impressed... More

This remains my favourite Indian in the town, but it is no longer extremely good value for money as I previously review. To be honest the food is quite expensive for what it is .......... but I have no complaints about the food itself.
