Happy to have seen the signs to the 17th century inn or would have never known it was there. Stopped for a drink with my partner on the way home from taking our baby son swimming in oakham, we were greeted by a very pleasant lady who pointed out the food available, directed us to some nice seats by a... We went with some friends for Saturday lunch, all the staff were very friendly and efficient. The setting was very pretty lovely village and pub.The food was great, the four of us enjoyed our meals and my husband loved the sticky toffee pudding. We went with our dog; we could take him in the bar and we could eat in... More

I had pre-arranged and organised to have a surprise meal at The Blue Ball for my partners 30th Birthday, after a few emails were exchanged between myself and the land lady Pip we came to the perfect Arrangments and herself and staff accommodated all my requests with delight and upon arrival I was overwhelmed by how well they had done... We took our friend here for her birthday and we were looked after really well. The food was superb. we would recommend this pub for all occasions as it has a large bar area and lots of smaller more intimate areas to drink or dine in.

4 of us had Sunday lunch here. It was only average and not that busy either. Will we return to eat? Only if there was nothing else available. A shame really as the welcome, beer and attention was all as it should be.

Such a quaint pub, looks like a tardis, small from the outside and large on the inside. Delicious Sunday meal and one of the few pubs around that cater for a gluten free child. 5 of us ate really well and drank well in such a lovely cosy atmosphere with a live jazz band in the background

Called into the the Blue Ball by chance today. Immediately impressed by such a warm welcome and how polite the staff proved to be. Don't expect your typical pub fare because this is so very much better. Very impressed by the quality of the food and very reasonably priced. Looking forward to returning again when in the area.

We had dinner in the Blue Ball on Saturday evening. We were greated by lovely open fires in the bar areas whilst we selected from the very good value menu. Our meal started with a complimentary home baked warm small loaf which was very tasty. The starter and main course were delicious and very well presented. The Blue Ball is... More
