Although closed on a Monday evening I sent an Email asking if I could reserve a table. Pip came straight back and confirmed it would be OK. On arrival we were welcomed by name and the service, with a friendly willing smile set the scene for the visit. Presentation was excellent and the portions... read more

We recently moved to the area and had tried numerous eateries. We eat out a lot and had been to the Blue Ball twice and this was our 3rd visit and we were discussing it becoming our eat out place of choice for those occaisions when we don't want to take time looking etc. First visits were great, a bit... Pubs don't come much older than this but the food was certainly up to date, the staff are very nice and the Sunday Lunch very good.

I just had another superb meal at the Blue Ball, this place is fantastic and well worth visiting! The pub looks more stunning than ever with a new terrace and thatched roof, which is a work of art. Staff are friendly and helpful, the menu is excellent and the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. The fresh home baked bread... More

It's been a while since we last visited and what a wonderful surprise to see their new thatch and gorgeous garden terrace, where we had a drink before dinner with friends. Such a pretty place, inside & out. However it was busier than we'd expected for a Tues Eve & also the first night of their new menu, so,it was... More

The service was very attentive and courteous. The food was of respectable quality but I thought it expensive.

My partner and i had a meal at the Blue Ball as we were caravanning at Meadowsweet Farm just up the road. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The wild mushrrom risotto was superb as was the lamb, rosemary and garlic sausages! Good selection of beer.

I was part of a party of four who sent to the Blue Ball yesterday (Fathers day) for lunch. It as a lovely venue, thatched roof and nice inside, but the food was very average. We had the salmon and crayfish for a starter which was very nice followed by roast beef. The beef was tuff, Yorkshire pudding overcooked. We... More

Four of us ate at the Blue Ball whilst staying in Braunstone for the night following a day's cycling around Rutland Water. We were consequently quite hungry. All the food we were served was delicious - well cooked and good sized (but not too huge) portions. There was a good selection of beers and wines and all the serving staff... More
