Due to bad weather me the other half and the little one decided to go out for lunch just to make something out of the day. We decided on The Red Lion at Winters Cross purely for its locality to home and the fact we knew they did roast dinners from the various signage displayed outside. We entered the pub... More

We were staying nearby and this pub was reccommended to us by John at the Broome Farmhouse B&B. We were expecting typical pub grub but what we got was a delicious curry worthy of any good Indian Restaurant. I had the Caribbean Chicken curry and my partner had beef. The wine was good too, sometimes that lets a place down... More

Visited with my family who live nearby, they recommended it. We had a pub lunch, ploughmans, and sandwiches with chips. The Caribbean landlady .(if she was the landlady )was very plesant and she had us guessing where she came from. They do fine hand pumped ales and good expressos, the WC's are modern and spotless while the inn itself it... More

We stayed for a night at the nearby Inn on the Wye and were looking for a nice straightforward pub, nothing fancy. Searched on trip advisor and this seemed just the ticket. Also had a look in Ross itself but nowhere seemed quite as cosy and the staff were very welcoming. We wanted to sit in the bar which wasn't... More

Lovely all the way, proper pub food, the steaks are some of the best i've had. Don't miss the Wye valley Ale, the Butty and Golden Ale are my favourites. If your going on the weekend make sure you book first because we've been disapointed at not being able to get a table before now. Well done to everyone concerned.... More

We have recently visited the Red Lion for evening meals and for Sunday lunches and have found the food to be excellent quality and much of it is sourced locally. The portion size was sensible (as in there was none left over but we were not left feeling hungry). It can be difficult to get a table on Sundays at... More
