I've heard many stories about this place both good and bad. Initially I was put off by the bad things I had been told, but the proof is in the pudding. So I put on my brave face and ventured out with my wife for a weekday evening dinner. All I can say is the food was outstanding here, wholesome... More

My mum really enjoyed the cavery but I much prefer the clean modern take on things. Service was pleasant. Young girl was very polite if a... More

We ate here back 7 months ago and 2 years before that on a Sunday. Both visits were awful! Really run down, staff are friendly but cluless . Food was so poor. Returned Saturday lunch with family and what a shock. Hotel still needs some tlc but and getting surved takes 15-20min . That side poor. The meal was very... More

Nice room , little run down around the edges, bit dated, ok service when it ,arrives! Little sloppy all round. Restaurant was ok , food was fantastic. Chicken broth was outstanding! Pheasant was to die for. Maybe this isn't the place to stay in the area, but treat it like a restaurant and you won't be disappointed. 4/10 hotel with... More

Booked an over night stay here to celebrate our anniversary. We have stayed here before and had a great time. Things have definately changed for the worse. On check on we were shown to our room which was away from the main house up a damp staircase above the noisy kitchen. The room too was full of damp, lights did... More

Views and outside surroundings very nice with plenty of walks. Hotel not worth £100 per night broken TV, broken wifi, terrible beds, sockets hanging out of wall, light bulbs missing, fixtures falling off walls. Staff very friendly and helpful 9/10 but seriously let down by hotel it self for what was our 7 year wedding anniversary. Unfortunately we will not... More
