Stayed here the night before my fathers funeral. Arrived at about 20.45 and restaurant was already closed. Last orders in restaurant supposed to be 21.00. Bathroom needs updating towel rail hanging off wall. Beautiful surroundings. Breakfast ok, but could be better.

Booked for Sunday lunch having not visited in over a year.....beautiful Georgian Manor House and dining room overlooking the surrounding Herefordshire countryside.....as previously relatively empty but just what is needed for a leisurely and peaceful Sunday lunch.....excellent basic choice menu with freshly prepared delicious dishes served.....excellent value for money cheaper than the surrounding pubs which all crammed full.....well done you... Only stayed one night and the young lady on check in was warm and welcoming despite it being her first day! The room in the courtyard was ok if a little tired and dated. The area outside the room was extremly shabby with something (damp?) growing out the walls. Food was of a good standard and the service attentive and... More

We stumbled across this beautiful manor on booking.com, and we were all overwhelmed with its beauty, hospitality and value. The staff were fantastic, very reasonably priced and the food was sensational. Would highly recommend!

Me and my partner have just visited Pengethley Manor as a two day break deal. The settling is beautiful. Gardens well kept. The staff very friendly and happy to accommodate requests. The hotel is clean and tidy. Our room (room1) was at the back with a four poster bed). Very nice indeed . Possibly why we've given it 4* is... More

I've heard many stories about this place both good and bad. Initially I was put off by the bad things I had been told, but the proof is in the pudding. So I put on my brave face and ventured out with my wife for a weekday evening dinner. All I can say is the food was outstanding here, wholesome... More

Very underestimated hotel on the outskirts of Ross on Wye. I've never stayed , only eaten on Sundays. Norman has left with the cavery and he's been replaced with more of a restaurant feel. My mum really enjoyed the cavery but I much prefer the clean modern take on things. Service was pleasant. Young girl was very polite if a... More
