Family of 5 dined here on Sunday 21st. Food and service were excellent as usual. All meals piping hot and portions large enough for the hungriest of appetites. Highly recommended.

Another visit after a year away. Nice to see the standards are being maintained. Ever popular so ensure you reserve a table! Good choice and excellent portions. Quality produce and local beers, what more could you want?!

We dined here today as a table of 15 and it was lovely. The staff were very attentive and made us laugh. Lovely. 14 out of 15 had the roast, it was lovely with vegetables and roast potatoes being brought on tap and when requested. Shame about some fellow diners feeling the need to make passing comments about our 92nd... More

My wife and I met friends again at Cross Keys for a Friday Lunch (got there for 12.15 knowing that it will be busy.....approx 12 people seated already) and was quite enjoyable except for my breaded plaice £9.95 (I was expecting grilled or oven baked not deep fried...perhaps I should have asked when ordering from the menu) and my wife's... Not fine dining, but a venue serving excellent home cooked food - with enormous helpings ! Because of the popularity of the place, service is inevitably slow, but if you are hungry you will struggle to find anywhere that gives you more food for your money ! Staff are very pleasant and helpful, even if rushed off their feet, but... More

The best 'Pub Grub" I've encountered. Massive portions, good quality just difficult to get a booking it's so dammed popular. Book well in advance.

I visited the Cross Keys again last week, see previous review, the food is still first class and parking can be awkward due to the popularity, but I think that the service is certainly suffering because of the popularity. We did not order starters as we were aware of the size of portions, but we were very disappointed in the... More

Was staying locally so this had to be done - good food and ok service. No starters on the menu though, just very large main courses. They are very busy and booking is recommended so they are obviously getting it right for a lot of people. My partner had the boar steak which he enjoyed and I had fish cakes... More

Party of 25 for lunch. Prompt service. Great choice of beer and cider. Food was fantastic and plentiful. Reasonable priced and obviously fresh. Staff were friendly and attentive. Nothing wrong to say about the place. Becky was a great waitress.

This is not far from us, and used to be a pretty average pub, I haven't been for years, but kept hearing good things. So when I got a new job and we wanted a decent meal on a Thursday, but not too expensive (haven't started yet!), I suggested the Cross Keys. We were alerted to its popularity by the... More
