Taken to this restaurant/pub as part of a preparation for a family 70th birthday in three weeks. The atmosphere was cosy, the food was excellent, the price fair and the hospitality excellent. Would certainly recommend it and would come again if/when in the area.

We called here for a break and some dinner during a long trip and I have to say it was excellent. The service was good and attentive, the food was excellent with extremely generous portions (lots of choice too) and the price was fantastic. What more could you ask for. Very happy and stuffed customers :) thanks.

Stayed in Lea for a long family weekend. Went to The Crown Inn several times. Very friendly pub. Food is lovely. Good pub grub throughout the week that is great value for money. Sunday dinner was delicious. This comes with a choice of meats and a wide variety of veg. Best sunday lunch we've had in a long time. Highly... More

We recently stayed (family of mum, dad, son and daughter of 8 & 2) in a cottage up the road from the Crown and slightly worried about heading in due to external appearance however liking a beer we did and so pleased we did. A great local pub with local characters and the staff were nothing but overly welcoming. Cas,... More

Having pre-booked a table for 5 for Sunday lunch was surprised on arrival that none had been reserved. There were no Sunday Lunch menus either. Was informed by staff what was available & told to order at the bar. The whole pub is a mish-mash of furniture & a vast amount of ornaments & other tat. There seemed to be... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in early Sept. A welcome that many 4 star hotels could learn from. The food is not smart in terms of gastro, but is of very good quality, the steak and kidney pud, ah! and loved the imaginative use of yorkshire puddings. Warning, do not have the full English breakfast, whilst excellent, you will... More

Living in the south - in the home counties - I am subject to astronomically priced gastro pubs or boil in a bag chains. The crown is neither. Dog friendly and a warm welcome from staff and locals- this is a well priced pub with a proper english cook. Fab steak and kidney pud and a great bread and butter... More

With generous portions and attentive staff, the Crown is a great place for a meal. The menu has so many yummy things to choose from, we found it hard to decide, but once we had chosen, we were served in good time, and the food was excellent.
