Nice pub next to river with camping.- family-friendly feel.

Nice pub, really friendly staff. The camping facilities (showers etc) were not luxurious but did the job. Food smelled good, wished we'd eaten there instead of walking into town. Beer good. campsite next to river and very pleasant. Take pound coins for shower. Cake also looked good....

it was a great pub and campsite. the campsite is small and it's a bank along the river. so one view is of the river/pretty bridge, you turn around and you've got a pub. perfect. we camped for one night. it's great for arriving in your canoe as the pub has a separate toilet and shower area. the landing is... We had not booked but a table was found in the bar on a lovely sunny Saturday in Ross. We had a short wait so had a refreshing pint of the local beer in the garden by the river. There was homemade tartar sauce with the fish dishes and my scampi looked homemade. All the food was hot and freshly... More

Well this pub certainly has a pretty setting by the bridge on the river with a garden and plenty of outside seating. There is also a small car park. Unfortunately the day we visited it was pouring and there were a couple of big parties booked. We felt rather rushed and shoved in the corner. To be honest had they... More

Good quality food, a good welcome and if the weather is fine, outdoor seating options, by the river. A varied menu and excellent vfm. A party of 10, we reserved a table, you order at the bar but served to table. Really only criticism was that portions were if anything over generous. One to definitely return to.

We visited this establishment on a very sunny weekend when they were very busy. The White Lion is located right next to the river and one can venture down to the stepping stones for a paddle! They have a reasonably large outside space which enjoys a fantastic view. The interior decor is somewhat dated and could do with a lick... More

Lunched here on the way to West Wales. Good food, nice service and warm ambiance. This pub is tucked away just off the A449 and is well worth finding and putting on your list of places to eat.

We took my brother to Ross for the day, and kicked off with lunch at The White Lion. It's a favourite of ours for many years, having first discovered it from the river, whilst on a canoeing holiday down the Wye. They remain canoeist friendly, but as it was midweek, there weren't many around. As always, the food was well... More

My friends and I decided to visit the White Lion for lunch as it was a gorgeous sunny day. We had a table outside which was lovely, we were overlooking the river. Service was a little slow, but it was busy outside. The food was ok, nice portion sizes and presentation. All in all, the surroundings were absolutely beautiful, perfect... More

Typical fisherman's Wye side pub. Lively and friendly. The food was surprisingly good if somewhat rustic. Literally Wye side it is a beatiful spot.
