We have eaten here several times but our latest visit was very good. We both had the "Whale of a fish" (It's Cod) and it was the best fish and chips we have had in a long long time and it was wonderful value for money. The cod was massive and stopped us both and we had no room for... More

We booked a table here for a Saturday night. When we arrived they couldn't find the booking, said all the tables were booked but then tried to show us to a table in the door way. Staff very offhand. Probably ok for a drink outside by the river but we didn't bother to stay to try the food. Poor atmosphere... More

Very nice Garden Restaurant directly on the Why river. Nice Staff and even better Food. Absolutely to recommend is the " Whale of a fish" huge portion for absolutely exceptable money. No worries this have nothing to do with Whale at all rather regarding to size of the fish.

We camped in the pub garden a stones throw away from the river for a reasonable fee. We also enjoyed a brilliant dinner with one of the best Thai green curries that i have ever tasted outside of Thailand. Would recommend this place as an ideal place to stop at during a canoe trip down the river Wye.

We ended up dining very late and where most places were closed the White Lion came to our rescue. The food was good, but just typical pub food nothing that stands out. The staff were helpful and polite.

The food was tasty and beautifully cooked, it was presented well, the quantity was ok but would have liked a little more. We also decided to have the chocolate and hazelnut meringue which was delicious. The cost was little more than we usually pay but was worth it. There were a good selection of drinks. The only downside was that... More

Nestling by the Wye, this pub should really be a big attracter but sadly, the beer is poor, the food is mediocre to worse, and it doesn't help when you walk in the bar to see a dog lying on the grubby carpet, and the kitchen door is open on the way to the toilet. Another example of a pub... More

My young family and I always have a fab time here. The staff are always welcoming and the food and drink are always great and very reasonably priced. We will continue to visit this great place. Not to mention the stunning river views.
