Simple but tasty

Since our last visit there have been a couple of small changes. The first is that you now have to wait to be seated at a table by the waiting staff rather than finding your own. The other is that some of the condiments are now on the table such as tomato sauce, mustard, HP and these are in... read more

Attended a family wedding here, the hotel was completely full as most of the family were booked in. The staff coped well with such a large wedding party.

I have been taking my two children into this pub for over a year, and sometimes eat here three times a week. The food is excellent we have never had a bad meal, the chefs work incredibly hard. Sadly, the waiting and bar staff, one in particular, who has been working there for a very long time is extremely bad... More

The food here is ok & what you'd expect for the price. The service however is not good, the staff appear young & lack good work ethics. The stroppy young blonde behind the bar needs replacing or to be at least taught some manners & how to act when dealing with the public.

Booked a table and no body to show us which was ours on arrival - this has happened twice, one waiter even told me just to walk around until I find the one with my name on it. We asked at the bar about our table and a very busy barman explained someone was sat on our table and said... More

On arrival we walked into pub to be met with quite thick smoke. Something had obviously burned in the kitchen, we wanted to sit outside, however all of the tiles had full asdhtrays and cigarette burns on them. We found a table inside and as we sat down a couple with a dog walked through! Mentioned this to the bar... More

I wouldn't normally leave a review for a cheap place like this but people need to know that cheap isn't always good. £8 steak was disgusting. It stunk. For cheaper with a drink and better quality go to the Witherspoon s down the road. The knife wasn't sharp enough 2 cut through the gristle! Never again!! Hang your heads in... More

We met friends for lunch Monday of last week. The barmaid was not at all welcoming and it took us a while to find a clean table. We eventually settled in the restaurant at a table layed with cutlery and napkins. When we sat down we became aware the table was sticky and greasy! We cleaned it ourselves with wet... More

Had a great Sunday lunch today. Could not fault it and great value for money. Good selection of vegetables and choice of three meats.

Came here for a pub meal over the weekend. Have been here on several occasions and the steak has been a bit iffy on three occasions now. You cannot fault the price, that's great, however, I find that they might be taking shortcuts (Pardon the Pun) on where they are getting the meat from or how they are cooking it.... More
