A very old former coaching inn, now a hotel, serving excellent meals. We dropped in on the off chance on a Thursday evening at about 6.30 and were fortunate enough to get a table. By the time we left about 2 hours later every table in the restaurant was full - I guess this speaks for itself! The food was... More

We ate here last Saturday evening and even though there was 10 of us in our party we were all served in a timely manor. There was a good choice of dishes on the menu and could recommend the steak it was cooked exactly as I asked and the food was piping hot when it was served to us and... More

We have eaten twice at The King`s Head when visiting my sister and her partner in Ross on Wye and enjoyed the experience on both occasions. There is an oldy worldy bar where you can have a drink before the meal. The restaurant is bright and light and airy and has a lovely atmosphere, the tables are not too close... More

Went out for family meal. Food and atmosphere were good, the service was excellent and the staff were very helpful dealing with my elderly mothers requests.

This is a restaurant that just misses being Excellent. It serves a local beer that is very drinkable if a little tepid. The food is of high quality and the menu is varied, but the duck I ordered, although flavoured with an excellent sauce, was slightly overcooked (possibly due to our late arrival without a reservation.

We were a party of 4 on a day trip hoping for a good lunch. We had one and a half hours before we needed to be on our transport back.We chose this pub because it had an outside patio to sit in the sunshine and it wasn't too busy.We ordered 2 ploughman's, a duck salad and fish and chips which... Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your two ploughman’s lunches with local chesses and home baked bread. Our patio is a sun trap and a particularly nice place to enjoy lunch or a few of our local real ales. We are sorry however, that you didn’t enjoy your freshly battered fish.... More

We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it. Came back a few weeks ago after the recent 'refurbishment' and was really disappointed in the scruffy restaurant design. There's a chipped and scuffed door 'sticking out from the wall' as you arrive at the restaurant. So off-putting! The walls are covered in what looks like rough pallet timber. What... More

We hadn`t eaten at the Kings Head for some time and as this was a special occasion we were risking it a bit! ( Wifes birthday and Wedding anniversary! ) But no problem at all-our party of five all had the Sunday roasts, and they were all delicious. The service was quick and friendly even thogh the place was full.Highly... More

We spend the day in Ross and chose the Kings Head based on the Tripadvisor reviews. I am pleased to say the food and service lived up to the high praise given by most reviewers on this website.

Had evening meal last Saturday night. The menu looked very good but food let it down. I had crevette cocktail as a starter and three quarters of it was rocket, and one particular sprig had a tough stalk, was about 6 inches long and frankly looked like a weed from my garden! What is this fashion these days to chuck... More

Thank you for taking the time for leaving your review. We are really sorry that you were disappointed with your meal. Our prawn and crayfish cocktail, is served with mixed leaves, which does include some rocket. I do apologise if a random stalky piece of rocket got through our washing and picking procedure. I will mention this to the chefs... More
