Lovely character, food and staff

I have visited The Old Court several times over the last few months taking advantage of their wInter card deal. Each visit has been most enjoyable in every way the character of the building, excellent food, service and of course great value with the winter deal.

This was our second visit here(22/2/15) after stopping for Sunday lunch last October we decided we would visit again after a weekend in leicester. We were not disappointed!! Sunday lunch was outstanding - plenty of meat and vegetables and even had extra roasties and gravy. Very good value for money, two courses for 14.99. Lovely place, staff very welcoming and... More

Last visited here in Oct 14 - had good dinner. returned for equally good lunch this time. Last review I didn't know about the access to toilets for disabled. Unfortunately they are not good for wheelchair users. Pity as there is good ramp access to the dining area and easy access parking near to front entrance. If you are not... More

We visited the Hedge Maze at Symonds Yat but wanted a little bite to eat so popped into this pub. We weren't expecting 5* and just wanted something to fill a gap. Sandwiches and a wide selection of fillings too so we opted for those. My partner struggles with a digestive disorder so likes to eat chicken whenever possible. On... More

We visited on the evening of December 29th 2014, the occasion being my daughter's 30th birthday. The building is made of stone and looks like a charming cottage from the outside. Inside it is wood and stone and old black and white timber. It was very cosy and inviting but the true splendor was the dining room. Splendor is not... More

A family lunch for six was most enjoyable - good value roast meals with god vegetables to go with them. The staff were very good - attentive without being overly so - the building is fantastic and it was great to be back for lunch again. Very good prices for such a lovely venue - treat yourself without breaking the... More

I went here for a family lunch and felt that the quality of the food and service had improved since previous visits. For a starter we shared a lovely baked Camembert, which came with roasted garlic and crusty bread. The mains were also excellent, particularly the freshly cut chips. The waiter who brought out the food was both friendly and... More

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. Having eaten here on several previous occasions, I booked a table in the hotel restaurant. Whilst there are several rooms in which to dine in this hotel, the restaurant is more intimate and the high ceiling sets off the medieval features to good advantage. Car parking is good and the hotel... More

Ate in the dining room rather than the bar because it was quieter and you could book in advance. Needed disabled access. You can drive up to the front door and there is no step. Portable ramp from hallway into spacious dining room. Don't know about disabled toilets. Service was a little slow because they were very busy in the... More

After having had a wonderful morning out we decided to pop in and have a lunch with some friends. All four meals that were ordered were good but not exceptional and they weren't cheap! Staff were friendly and helpful. We had decided to eat in the conservatory as it was a lovely day but what a disappointment. The furniture, especially... More
