Just wonderful pub food, great atmosphere and well frequented by locals in the winter. Staff and managers very friendly
Very poor food and if you do complain expect the manageress to be rude to you as she was with us . I had chicken supreme which was tasteless and when I cut into the chicken there was red inside, When I quietly told her I wished to send it back as it was still raw she replied some of... More
I was surprised at how lively the Old Court bar and restaurant were on a rainy Sunday evening. The roast dinners we had were good and I particularly enjoyed the Glamorgan sausages option for vegetarians. The staff were very friendly too. Not too sure about the Pheasant Pluckers cider though, a bit too strong for me!
The Old Court is a beautiful olde worlde hotel in Symonds Yat West. The food is rather expensive and not really worth the money. The faggots come wrapped in streaky bacon (for flavour) and when we complained that they were tasteless it did not go down go well with the manageress(?). Who did not even reply when we spoke on... Taken my wife the the old court today and on arrival the roof was been re done witch was a little dangerous when a broom came down passed our head off the scaffolding. But, on the the actual premises and at first glance it's old , cold and very medieval. I found it very pleasant on the eye. We sat... More
A lovely lunch for the family on Saturday 15th February 2014. Staff ultra friendly and the food is really good too. Would highly recommend if you are in the area. We will return. Thank you
Popped in for an evening meal whilst staying locally on the recommendation of our hosts - wasn't disappointed. Lovely entrance area with blazing fire, table in conservatory area was clean & tidy. Fish pie was delicious & very filling, the sirloin steak cooked beautifully. Pleasant ambiance with friendly service. Good find.
We enjoyed our lunch in the conservatory. Would be a brilliant place also in the summer months as the gardens looked beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A little on the expensive side but the history you are surrounded by makes it still good value for that special experience.
We've been to this hotel for meals many, many times and stayed last New Year. The service and accommodation are just lovely, the food is always quality and consistent. In the winter it's especially cosy and full of atmosphere and warmth with the fires going, the wooden beams and the biggest front door ever. The only problem I had was... More
We dropped in for a morning coffee to warm us up and ended up coming back for lunch after we'd seen the menus. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, and we only wished we were staying nearer and could come back again. The fish I had was superbly cooked, with a light beer batter that enhanced the whole... More
