Visited on Saturday night, we had booked luckily as we took the last table - not overly big eating area, but nice enough to feel that you weren't jam packed and could hear your own conversations rather than other tables! had a little wait for the food - but don't mind that as you know it is freshly cooked -... We visited here mid week in January. We were the only people in the restaurant but this was not an issue. The service was very good and friendly and the food was good. We had the mixed starter - seaweed, chicken sate, spare ribs, spring rolls and prawn toasts followed by crispy duck, then deep fried chilli beef and malaysian... More

I haven't been to China Boy Jo in years as the last meal I had there was frankly awful. I made the mistake of taking about 8 people, so it was both a dreadful meal and very expensive. I noted that it has a 5 star hygiene rating (these days, that's the first thing I check before booking!) and thought... More

Stopped in for food on NYE and enjoyed the experience very much. We chose from the set menu and courses were brought out when we were ready. There was a slight delay in receiving the main course as there was a large group served ahead of us but this was welcomed as we were not in a rush. Food was... More

We stopped here for a light dinner on a Sunday evening. Dishes were very well presented and cooked. Just right hot and sour soup, a dim sum dumpling which drove my daughter almost mad with delight: duck with pancakes with succulent flesh and crispy well flavoured skin. Melt in the mouth squid noodles and a spicy aubergine dish which was... More

By far the best Chinese I have had. We went with friends as a last minute thing on a Sunday night. It was excellent. The mixed starters were amazing. For main we had the chilli beef and sweet & sour chicken - my testers for how good a chinese is - both wonderful. We will definitely go back again, and... More

Very quiet on the Friday night we visited. No complaints about the tasty food, but we did feel rushed and the service was a little unfriendly, Even though it was not busy a drinks order was forgotten. Maybe with more people the atmosphere would be better?

The China Boy Jo was our second choice as the Yaks n Yetis restaurant was fully booked (even at 18:45). We wanted something tasty, and predominantly vegan. The restaurant was quiet although became busier by 20.45. There was a large selection and the food chosen was good - above average for a Chinese restaurant and the service more than adequate.

We thought that both the food and service here was wonderful. The food was very light and tasty, and not greasy like a lot of chinese restaurants we've been to. The only thing lacking was the ambience, as it felt a little like a cafe, and the music was a strange mix of european tunes played on chinese instruments, we... More

Its been a couple of years since our last visit. Dining is now downstairs as you enter. More character and ambience than upstairs but you do get the odd draft through the door as people come and go quite a lot. The food was served quickly despite a full restaurant. The taste across all our meals was excellent and each... More
