Very friendly and welcoming

Charming people, and a real family atmosphere, this is clearly a popular local restaurant. However, the food is poorly presented. Most dishes looking a bit samey, and a bit uniform in colour and texture. The bill was not cheap, either. But these are such nice people that you have to wish them... read more

Had a fantastic meal with friends on Sunday evening. We went early, whilst it was relatively quiet. We were treated with warmth and courtesy. The menu was explained to us - I had the Daal Bhatt - delicious, spicy as I requested - they can do it mild, medium as well. Good value for money.

We were travelling to Monmouth for a Sunday evening gig and thought we needed to eat, so stopped off in Ross to find somewhere. Happened to park outside Yaks N Yetis so had a look at the menu and went in. Staff were very friendly and were happy to discuss our dietary ethics (vegan, so no dairy etc). Settled on... More

Me and few of my pouls went there for a meal. Service was slow fair enough they were busy but we've been ignored by their staff. Had to wait way too long for our food. We haven't been informed about the waiting time on arrival which was a bit disappointing. Foods okey but I wouldn't recommend anyone to go on... More

As we live locally, we have eaten in Yaks and Yetis on a number of occasions and had a good few takeaways. Eating in: staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is fairly limited but what they cook they cook very well. The food is delicious, the portions are good and presentation (for what it's worth) is simple and... More

Wasn't expecting much from Ross on Wye on a damp Wednesday evening in March. A delightful restaurant staffed by wonderful people. Will go back!

Yaks and Yetis is a gem of a restaurant. Staff are extremely friendly and attentive, without being 'in your face'. The menu has great authentic curries. I would recommend the Kathmandu Lamb curry and the coconut rice was stunning. Chicken Satay starter was far superior to anything we have ever had before and as for the Squid..... well that was... Our day in Ross on Wye had been ruled by the cold and rain, so we decided to visit a "Ghurka" restaurant we had spotted on a previous visit. The cuisine is I believe Nepalese, Thai and Tibetan. The atmosphere is friendly, very good service, cosy and unpretentious. Old fashioned yes, with Buddhist decor. We had some poppadoms and dips... More

Visited last week as had relatives visiting, I have lived in Ross for 13 years and ashamed I had not visited before; but i WILL again. The food was excellent, and a good range of tastes, various strengths are catered for. My only let down was the range of beers available was uninispiring, but that will not stop my return.
