A family run restaurant full of charm

Our day in Ross on Wye had been ruled by the cold and rain, so we decided to visit a "Ghurka" restaurant we had spotted on a previous visit. The cuisine is I believe Nepalese, Thai and Tibetan. Visited last week as had relatives visiting, I have lived in Ross for 13 years and ashamed I had not visited before; but i WILL again. The food was excellent, and a good range of tastes, various strengths are catered for. My only let down was the range of beers available was uninispiring, but that will not stop my return.

This is a great little restaurant, and one of the main reasons we make regular trips down to the Ross area from North Wales .It seems to be a family run concern, and the food has a definite 'home-made' taste and many unusual dishes. The staff are helpful and efficient and very friendly, always willing to describe and advise on... More

Unassuming, unpretentious, unfussy, and... Unusual! But definitely in a GODD way. Real 'home-made' notes, each ingredient hitting individual note and character. And as mentioned by many, Friendly and Delightful.

Second time here and the food is even better than before with good variety and subtle flavours. Also particularly impressed by the outstanding service - nothing was too much trouble. Worked about £25 per head with a couple of drinks each - well worth it.

We arrived un-booked on a Saturday evening when the restaurant was already pretty full and having been met with a gulp and a worried look from the waiting staff, we were still found a perfectly nice table. The food was a mixture of Nepalese and Indian cuisine, the service was excellent with the waiting staff being extremely kind and courteous.... More

Putting it simply they have very good food, attentive service and offer something completely different. Nepalese, himalayan food is very tasty and the owners really care about their customers. Would recommend

I went here after reading some TA reviews. Simply put this place is great. The food is great and reasonably priced plus the service is great. Very polite efficient and professional. Plus they have a Ghurkha appeal tin for your tip or loose change. Go and try something different!

On arrival we were given a lovely welcome and the service was very attentive throughout. I opted for the daal bhat, which is a traditional Nepalese meal comprising curry, lentil soup. spinach, homemade pickle, crunchy soya beans and basmati rice. I liked the fact that you can choose the level of heat and can go for chicken, fish or vegetable,... More
