We've enjoyed many great meals here in the past but I'm sorry to say that I think it has had its day and is now trading on former glories. We booked a table for the last evening of our hoilday - were offered only 6.00pm or 8.30pm so assumed it was really busy. Whilst it was busy outside at the... More

A nice lunch. £25 for two with a drink. Seating not very comfortable, wooden benches under a hot gazebo. There is out side seating but it was busy and the tables full. A very good menu with plenty of choice. Would visit again and hopefully get a table outside which I,m sure would be nicer.

Beautiful location, but I have to say looking a bit tired on the outside and over priced for what we had and we've been a few times for coffee or ice cream during the day, breakfast and once for a meal. More beach cafe during the day...and loosely a brasserie in the evening. The crab salad was dry and had... More

The place was very clean and dog friendly. The food was prepared once ordered and was very fresh. Well worth a visit.

Best place to sit and chill in the area. Every year we visit Salcombe it has to be a pilgrimage to The Winking Prawn. Super place to either have a light meal a snack or just a drink and watch the world go by.

What has happened? We've returned after a 2year Salcombe absence and discovered that we are dictated too on what we eat where - even though you don't want to sit outside and eat a £25 per head BBQ and no one else seems to, you can't order from main menu and sit outside in the afternoon sun! Such a crying... More

Overall WP has a lot going for it - especially if you have children to cater for. Having been coming for years I've noticed a decline in the quality of food and the latest visit was frankly poor. My ribeye turned itself into a rump steak that was so badly cooked I doubt the "chef" has had any real training.

We visited this restaurant one evening and opted to sit outside and have the barbecue menu at £17.95 a head - 2 items off the barbie, bread, salad and dressed potatoes plus an ice-cream or hot drink to finish. The barbie items took a while, but were enjoyable when they arrived ( the steak suited me but if you are... More

Just dropped in for afternoon tea after a pleasant relaxed walk on the beach with friends at 4.30 pm on a hot afternoon. We gave our initial order, but then were 'told off' by another waitress for sitting in the wrong area, and our attention was drawn to the sign at the entrance of the outside seating area, which asked... Placed right on the roadside opposite the North Sands this restaurant has a few car parking spaces with more available in the public car park very close by. Parking on the road is also an option if there are spaces. The colour scheme of this restaurant is quirky and really well thought out. It gives the place a 'young' feel... More
