The Victoria Inn has been run by Tim & Liz Hore since 2008. We pride ourselves on being a 'Traditional Pub, with Traditional Values'. It has this year (2014) been awarded the Taste of the West Gold Award - awarded for locality of produce used, ambiance and high standards of service. We are the only pub in the South Hams to hold this prestigious award. National finalists In Licensee of the Year, finalists in Devon Life Family Friendly Dining Establishment as well as previous Fish & Chip award finalists. We welcome children with their own menu selection of home cooked food and dogs with their own Al a Bark menu! Bookings to eat with us are advised as we get extremely busy and hate to disappoint customers.

Returned to Salcombe after 15 years to find a few changes !!, but Victoria Inn opposite WhiteStrand still worth a visit, more of a eatery than I remembered, but very good food and great atmosphere helped by enthusiastic staff. Only slight moan was the cheese board, all local (ish) but the Devon... read more

We spent the weekend in Salcombe and had 2 fantastic meals at the Victoria Inn. Luckily we had booked before arriving as if we had not have done, we would have been disappointed before we started. Service with a smile from the moment we arrived. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. Being a party of mixed ages, the choice... More

After reading other reviews we decided to book for Sunday Lunch on the second day of our week in Salcombe. It was such a relief to know that they were doggy friendly as, at this time of year, it is always difficult to eat out with our four legged friend whilst on holiday as most pubs/restaurants do not tolerate dogs... A busy bank holiday weekend, a busy restaurant......the Victoria rises to the challenge. The staff are courteous, humorous and attentive in equal measure not only to us but also to our dogs! We even got a visual impression of a gurnard (we asked what the fish looked like.) I can now tell you that it also tasted delicious! The food... More

Sometimes, you go somewhere and it exceeds your expectations. This is it then. Great food, we had the Green Thai Curry served with fluffy rice, sambal and other condiments. Well organised - The Manager, Lynn has her finger on the button, keeping her team, the bar, kitchen and guests in her sights in a friendly way. Very friendly serving team... More

We went out for a drive to find somewhere different for Sunday lunch, and wow did we find it,it was busy, so sometimes that's a good sign, but the welcome we received, at a busy time was second to none, found a table for two, told us what the procedure was,and that to me was very professional, ordered our lunch and... The Victoria never disappoints. Fantastic food, always a great atmosphere and a friendly welcome. If you are in Salcombe make sure you allow time for a drink and a meal here.

Dear Shazzoo22 It's great to see that our Sunday Roast vegetarian option was so well received - thank you! We like to think we offer our vegetarian customers great alternatives to many pubs - firstly, everything is made freshly. We try to look outside of the normal, so currently stuffed Cabbage Parcels and a Haloumi dish are on the menu... More

Our second visit during a six day stay and booked our third already! Fabulous choice of top quality food. Jackie and Ben could not have been more welcoming although Jackie wins according to our dog (our leader), Lottie. A blanket, dog beer and bonios and Lottie was ready to move home! Looking forward to our return.

Popped in on Saturday 25th April around 6.30pm in the hope of finding a free table. Although many were already full, and several booked, we were fortunate enough to find one for the two of us.
