The Victoria Inn has been run by Tim & Liz Hore since 2008. We pride ourselves on being a 'Traditional Pub, with Traditional Values'. It has this year (2014) been awarded the Taste of the West Gold Award - awarded for locality of produce used, ambiance and high standards of service. We are the only pub in the South Hams to hold this prestigious award. National finalists In Licensee of the Year, finalists in Devon Life Family Friendly Dining Establishment as well as previous Fish & Chip award finalists. We welcome children with their own menu selection of home cooked food and dogs with their own Al a Bark menu! Bookings to eat with us are advised as we get extremely busy and hate to disappoint customers.

Good food in a very pleasant pub

This pub has a good atmosphere and a nice interior (unlike at least one of its competitors!). The menu is restaurant standard, and the food matched this - it was good quality and very well prepared. Very good wine and beer. Prices are reasonable. Service left a little to be desired, but was... read more

A good pub in the centre of Salcombe - nice staff and atmosphere. Very busy in the restaurant, so definitely worth booking a table. The tables are a bit squashed together and not much room for manoeuvre. The food was good, my seabass was tasty but the potato rosti was lukewarm. So a good (not great) meal but I'm comparing... My partner and I decided to try the Victoria Inn as it stated on the outside that children were welcome and we were out for the first time with our baby. On entering the pub we asked if we could have a table, were shown to a table and then the waitress just walked off. We didn't know whether to... More

The good: Lovely cosy pub, we sat by the roaring log fire for hours! Very nice Cream Tea: scones were straight out of the oven! Probably the most accommodating dog-friendly pub we’ve visited in the UK: own dog menu & the staff love dogs Great location, right in the heart of Salcombe The bad: That I don’t live close-by! Dear MrR I have to agree with you on the fact that your Cream Tea was so great - but then I'm biased! I also have to smell them every morning they come out of the oven!! Seriously, we are very pleased you enjoyed your visit to us and I have seen the pictures - they make a great sight.... More

Been a long time since we were last in Salcombe which we love and came across the Victoria Inn. It has great seating downstairs, upstairs and terrace areas. A good selection of drinks you would expect with some great real ales and speciality Gins! The food selection was very good to and we had a great lunch. We even went... More

Great food, beer, staff and location. Also enjoy the open fire in the bar area on those crisp weekends when you need a warm up. Always enjoy our regular trips to Salcombe and calling in here. Most welcoming.

Stopped here for a cream tea and the atmosphere and food was lovely! Definitely should visit this place, the food the other customers had also looked delicious! I had a little food envy.

Dear Croberts15 A little food envy is never a bad thing you know........... and as for our fantastic Scones?? I try to resist I really do, but the smell as they come out of the oven every morning is often just too much for a human being!! We stopped here late one rainy day and the roaring fire and even warmer welcome from the staff made us feel really special. Salcombe is such a small little town - so to be welcomed in a place where so many visitors pass through, it just felt special. The food isn't gastro pub awesome but it is comfy and well... More
