We called in on our last evening of a very unhappy and unsatisfactory stay at the nearby Shillingford Bridge Hotel, and were much cheered up by the kind and friendly service from the two men at the bar. We, two 70 plus women, found ourselves relaxing for the first time for the whole weekend, enjoyed our meal, and left laughing, with their... More

Went to the Boathouse for Sunday lunch as we were in the area. We arrived as it opened and chose a window seat, looking out over the river. We were glad we arrived when we did as it filled up very quickly. The staff were really friendly and we were served promtly. I ordered the vegetarian option as i liked... More

Went there last night with some family and friends. Me and my niece ordered the rump steak, my husband and brother had the mixed grill and my friend had the hunters chicken. The order came quite promptly especially considering how busy the place was. The steak was cooked to perfection, my husband said it was the best mixed grill he... More

Had a fish finger sandwich which was inedible, the poorest quality fish fingers were not white inside but dark brown and the taste was awful, for £3.99 rubbish !, Reported this to a member of staff who replied " he wouldn't eat them ". The two kids meals were equally bad.

My wife and Icalled in for a meal late this afternoon with another couple. We all ordered cod and chips with three of us having the 'cod father' meal at £9.49 which included bread and butter - food and drinks were pre-paid for at the bar. After a fairly lengthy wait our meals arrived but it soon became apparent that... More

Went to the boat house at 7.30pm for a drink and snack. Me and my sister chose to order a woo woo cocktail each. I saw on the menu that there were pitchers available so we opted for that to share. I watched the bar maid put 2x 25 ml of vodka and the same of archers into the pitcher.... More

Have been here quite a few times, but tonight was very disappointing. Just gone 830pm and tried to order some food to be told, very nonchalantly, even though the kitchen usually closes at 845pm they were so busy they closed at 745pm! Had to get all the orders in! I work in the industry and found this the strangest comment... More

Welcoming staff, and nice to see its so dog friendly in and out of the pub. The new manager is a breath of fresh air seeing the potential and very accommodating. The food portions are huge and value for money and very tasty. I have seen the changes in over. 40 years in visiting this town and got to say... More

This pub is a 'must visit' if you are visiting Wallingford to witness its many charms. Set on a riverside location right next to historic Wallingford Bridge this pub offers good food and very inexpensive lagers, in fact the cheapest in the area! There is nothing better than sitting on the riverside patio on a Summer's evening, with the chance... More
