We keep coming back!

A party of 6 of us went here for lunch on Monday. The service was good & the food was excellent. We all enjoyed it & will be going back in the future. It is the site of the Old Post Office hence the name. the bar is the old counter. There is a fire in the grate & a... More

Just visiting for the day (Sunday). The menu outside stated a sandwich snack, but we were told inside that they didn't do that on Sunday's. Not a problem, but I didn't see any notification that the menu changed on the board outside. (Must have missed it). We decided to stay for dinner, the thought of roast shoulder of lamb is... More

Our experience of the Sunday roast was very different to a previous reviewer's......The vege burger and sweet potato fries were well enjoyed. The house burger and regular fries were also enjoyed BUT the fries contained what looked and tasted like a piece of pork skin, which would not have gone down at all well had it been in the vege... Oh dear, InfoJingo. We are really disappointed to read this review. We really do urge all our guests to spare a few minutes to give us feedback on their meal; either when the team do their courtesy "how's your meal" check-back, or at the end when paying the bill. To hear that neither of these opportunities presented themselves is a... More

We came upon this place just in time for Sunday lunch, they managed to squeeze us in although we hadn't booked. There had obviously been a major carnivore fest on the Saturday night as both the crispy chicken skins and the fillet steak were off (my first choices) but my second choices were just perfect, calamari and the house burger.... Thanks for the glowing review, Jane. We delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your visit. Please accept our apologies for the lack of crispy chicken skins and fillet steak - perhaps we can tempt you back again very soon so you can sample both these delights. More

This was my first (but definitely not last!) visit to the Old Post Office at Wallingford. We've been hearing lots of good comments about it from friends. The choice for Sunday lunch is good - from comfort food to salads to sunday roast - we were all catered for. The quality of the food was very good. The service was... More

Have been here a few times for food and drink and always enjoy it. It is rather pricey but is otherwise a good place to go if you find yourself in Wallingford. The food is nice and well presented and the staff are always polite. I would recommend going here.

Many thanks for the feedback, Mikey. We're really chuffed to hear you like what we do. At the Old Post Office we are very particular about the products we buy; from our butcher's meat and grocers' vegetables through to our teas and coffees. Great products do come with a slightly higher price tag but we do work very hard to... More

What a change from my previous review! Visited on a Friday evening with a table of 5 and the restaurant wasn't overly busy. However, both the service and some of the food was poor. 4 of our mains arrived at least 15 minutes before the final dish was brought out and when it arrived it was nothing short of disgusting...how... Many thanks for taking the time to feedback on your visit, Ktema. I understand that your visit was a few weeks ago but, nevertheless we're frustrated to learn that your visit wasn't up to our usual standards. I am unable to contact you directly through Trip Advisor but would really welcome a chance to discuss this visit with you in... More

We’re rather choosy about our coffee so it's always lovely to have such good feedback about this wonderful pick-me-up! Our beans have been selected for their full-bodied flavours, intense aroma and lasting, rich cocoa notes. Our coffee beans are Fairtrade certified, sourced from farms and cooperatives Colombia, Vietnam and Peru, all of which are 100% traceable to origin. Looking forward... More

We had a table for four, and were attended to very competently by friendly waitresses. We had a small blip when a red Rioja was delivered instead of a white, but that was soon resolved! The vegetarian options were great (especially coming from France, where there are none!), and I had a lovely salad full of interest, and well dressed.... More

Hello Valerie, and thank you for posting this review of your visit. We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed our food, especially to know that you were pleased with our vegetarian options.
