Disappointing

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time as I had heard so many good things about it, but i won't be going back. The food was fine and service was good, but I hated the environment and it was so noisy - wooden floors, no soft furnishings, the kitchen in the dining room and a... read more

Ok but not great had to ask for every thing after receiving my lunch. Chips, plate for bones from fish and still not checked back.

The Old Post Office is an intelligent way of using a dismissed structure and restore it to its best. The lovely wooden structures are all in place, but turned into a modern restaurant with open view onto the kitchen and a separate, exquisite bar area at the front. The food is good (not exceptional, but you would not expect that),... More

The service was good and the food was very nice, just wasn't a lot of it. I went with three other people and we all thought the same. As an example my starter was Gambas Pil Pil (King prawns in a tomato sauce). I received a plate with a small bowl containing 4 prawns and tomato sauce, accompanied by one... More

Popped in for a quick coffee and a bite to eat late on a Sunday morning. The place was starting to fill with people in for a Sunday lunch, but we were still able to order from the breakfast menu. Service was fast and friendly, coffee delicious (warmed milk always a nice touch), and the Egg Brioche bun had a... More

Lovely visit with my family. All waitresses/waiters were very attentive. Didn't manage to get all of their names. Thank you to Rhiannon for offering to take a group picture of our family though. Was really nice. :)

We've eaten here quite a bit recently - The Josper Grill makes it a great place if you fancy a steak, fish or burger cooked on charcoal. This restaurant has been through many guises since it's original conversion from a post office .... This is arguably its best yet. The Sunday roasts are very good (ask for your gravy/ sauces... The OPO is a fairly reliable place for decent food and good service. The prices are perhaps a little inflated but the venue is very nice and the waiting staff make a lot of effort to make diners feel welcome. The poor waitress today tipped some of my fries in my lap but apart from that she was very good!... More

Very good menu having experienced another member of this chain 10 days earlier. Three Chicken main courses were presented overcooked and skin quite black. Returned to chef who subsequently presented three perfectly cooked dishes which we enjoyed. Chef later made a personal apology when visiting out table, full marks to him. He offered free deserts as compensation but we thanked... More
