I felt compelled to review The Stonecross after reading previous reviews, prior to our visit there. My Aunt had booked a table for eight of us to celebrate her 70th Birthday, I was a little apprehensive after reading the poor reviews, however, we all enjoyed the various meals we had ordered and the waiter that served us was friendly and... A nice looking restaurant given that it is part of a chain, friendly front of house staff. The food was slow to arrive, 2 main courses and a shared starter between 2 people as a main. The side salad was too dry to eat chicken on the first main had been well cooked and accompanying BBQ sauce had a good... More

I hope the manager of the chain sees this! Was told to wait 15 minutes to get a table by a manager who looked disinterested. The barmaid was leaning over the beer pumps disinterested. The menu was nothing short of boring. I'd class it as food of a by gone era. Looks nice from the outside but its in extreme... More

Just had a family meal (8 people). Service was excellent with staff being very attentive. Food was very good, 8 near empty plates. Price was great £92.00 for 8 main meals and 2 drinks each. Fantastic value.

Attached to Premier Inn on East Lancs Road, just off M6, so good location. Decent food at reasonable prices. Have stayed there a few times and breakfasts are very good. Place is clean and well presented Can be quite busy but outside seating and large car park

The menu looked good, if a bit pricey! But always willing to pay for a nice meal, which this was NOT. I had battered cod, this was underdone and black, my partner had Thai curry that was tasteless. This is my first review but felt that this meal was so bad needed to warn potential diners

Simple request for nacho dressings to be left to one side was incorrect, another starter of simple bread and butter didn't even arrive. When it did the bread was soggy. They say they close at 11, at 10:10 one waiter exclaimed to a waitress in front of the dining area "Turn the music off and get them out, I want... More

Appt name for a great find..the Stonecross has a lot to offer both on the menu and at the venue. We went as a family meal out with relatives who live near the restaurant. Spacious on entering and light decor..plenty of seating space and easy to get about. We were shown to our table near a broad window..table in the... More

We arrived sunday at approx 10.50am and stood as requested waiting to be seated. One of the staff approached and told us she would be a couple of seconds, never to be seen again. A second girl appeared who dealt with a lady who wanted a refund as she had decided not to eat. We were completely ignored and then at... More
