Alright, the Food made it 3 stars

The restaurant was okay, but understaffed. The menu was short of items advertised as lots of items were missing as Boxing Day Monday and service took about 40 minutes for just one course . The food was good, atmosphere was good Overall it was okay if you did not mind to wait when not busy

4 of us went for a meal on new years eve. Well were do i start? We were greeted with sorry but we have no fish in batter no mashed potato and one or two other items. We started with share platter which was over cooked in dirty oil. Our other meals were a disgrace, all 4 meals were dry... More

My husband and I booked for Christmas Day, the first time we'd ever been out for Christmas dinner and it will certainly be the last! The 3 courses were dreadful, the Christmas dinner itself looked like a microwave meal, totally dry and looked like it had been prepared the day before and re heated. The turkey also looked like it came... More

We booked a Christmas lunch time meal for a party of fifteen and we were seated very quickly as we were the first of the lunchtime diners to arrive at midday. Our starter came very quickly, either pate or garlic mushrooms which everybody seemed happy with for their first course. The restaurant began to fill up very quickly after that... More

Food nice, prompt service, friendly staff. Good choice on menu and they will adapt your meal, for example add and takeaway items of food, generous portions.

We've not been here for a few months as the standards dropped. The place looks a little faded but could be the dimmed lighting. The food was very hot tasty and well presented. The sweets are very dear at nearly t£5 but main course was reasonless priced. Young lady waitress was credit to them. Very good at her job. Well... More

We visited this pub on a busy Sunday evening and had a wonderful experience. Andy (assistant manger) (?) was our server and he went beyond the call of duty to serve our table and made our little boy very welcome. I would recommend this pub to anyone in the area. Thank you and Merry Christmas to the team.

I visited the pub for Christmas lunch along with work colleagues on a Wednesday afternoon. It was virtually empty but as we had booked for a party of 40 there were staff awaiting behind the bar to serve drinks which were served promptly. We were then asked to take our seats in the restaurant and found the tables quite close... More

Very disappointed in the visit here. Not eaten here for years and though we would give it a try for a birthday lunch. I had the chicken and bacon sandwich, which when arrived was two bits of dry bread with what looked like a shop bought sandwich filler I could of made better at home. The side salad was withered...
