Evening started well being seated in the bar area to browse the menu and have a drink before going to our table but then it went downhill rapidly. The first meals came out for our table and the waitress said " i have the chicken errrmmm something" and placed it down she didn't have a clue what is was and... More

Went here for lunch to celebrate a family birthday. One of the party - the birthday girl, is wheat intolerant, which I had mentioned when I booked. All this was noted and a gluten free appetiser was provided together with bread. We chose from the A la Carte menu and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Before coffee ,with the... I went here as part of a special occasion with a group of friends, and we all found the food, service and ambience to be great. The location and decor of the restaurant and bar area give it such a country and homely feel, and the service is both professional and personal in a great, equal measure. The amuse bouche... More

We have eaten here before, and remembered it with a good feeling. This visit the service was as before very good , the starters very good ,the main course , steak which was cooked to perfection,BUT the Dauphinois Potatoes were so heavily flavoured with garlic ,it was inedible,if only the kitchen had tasted this dish before it left the pass ,it... We have been to this restaurant many times and have always had a lovely meal but last night the food was very disappointing. The bread, chefs appetiser and my starter of soup were lovely. Up to standard it was a shame the rest of the meal was not. My main meal came on a bed of mashed potato. One taste... More

Traditional looking restaurant and hasn't changed a bit since I was last there about 7 years ago.....not a bad thing, it shows consistency, but petit fours in a bucket of mist was quite cutting edge then but it's not really now. The 3 courses for £14.95 was certainly good value and I enjoyed my Goats Cheese Soufflé, Rib-eye steak (£3.95... More

We come back to this restaurant time and again for special occassions and have bought alot of our friends here. They are always impressed with both the food and the atmosphere. Although it may not be as cheap as some other restaurants it is still value for money. The speciality breads are gorgeous and you get to take away any... More

First visit to the Chardonnay. Certainly not our last. Excellent value meal at £38.00 for the two of us. Unexpected 'taster' supplied f.o.c,such a nice and welcomed gesture. Staff, friendly, courteous, professional and helpful. The meal was presented beautifully, very tasty and highly recommended. The surroundings were clean, tables laid out superbly, and the decor comfortable with low beams and lovely Olde World charm. Well done... More

Went there for the 1st time last night. Easy to find. Easy to park. Nice welcome with nibbles while you can have a drink. Menu at £14.95 for 3 courses is amazing. Good choice. The freshly baked bread is so tasty. Atmosphere in restaurant very nice. Good and spacious. The coffee after the meal with free top ups and a... More
