A party of 8 of us went there last night for a birthday celebration.I booked on line with conformation on my phone but only to be told the manager was off so there was no booking logged. However they were able to seat us.We waited over 45minutes for our main courses. We were all very hungry.I ordered steak, medium,it was rare and... Turned up not booked but we're seated straight away Staff very attentive and foods was very good Chips under cooked and a bit greasy but other wise very nice Error on order was corrected straight away and did not spoil the enjoyment of the meal We will definitely return again to this and would recommended it to our freinds

Lovely building, part of the Chef and Brewer group. We have been coming here every few months since 2006. Quality varies, there is only a small kitchen, and often it has struggled to cope with demand. On several occasions it has only operated a condensed menu as someone further up the food chain(sorry!) has made the decision to concentrate on... More

...but not as we know it. Went here for Sunday lunch, we all had roasts, roast pork, trio of roasts, slow cooked pork belly and slow cooked rib of beef. We didn't have sky high expectations (this is a chain pub - Chef & Brewer) but were nevertheless thoroughly underwhelmed by the food, the decor and the atmosphere. Our table... More

We called on NYE at 8pm as our host/cook for lunch was ill and had to cancel the family meal. 10 family members including 2 year old twins were welcomed and everyone enjoyed their food from the substantial menu, excellent real ale and friendly service, thank you

Sad to say my 2nd review is not so positive as the last one. Harvey's ale continues to be good, but the restaurant was sadly lacking. Took some while (20 mins) and anxious looks to get our order taken. Took considerably longer for it to arrive, 30 mins. Could have lived with this if what was served was good, but... More

I'm really pleased I gave The Bulls Head a second chance after a terrible meal last summer (I think there has been a change of hands). Had several lovely meals here, all well cooked and excellent value. Recently enjoyed the festive menu with a group of 8 adults and 4 children and every meal was well cooked. The staff were... More

A group of us came for lunch and ordered from the festive menu. The service was brilliant, they even helped entertain my young daughter who was playing up!! Food was delicious and brilliant value. It's in a lovely location (luckily for us very close by!) and so this has become a bit of a favourite of ours. Would strongly recommend!

Been here for lunch and dinner was impressed both times. Lovely bar and pub atmosphere. Warm and traditional. Very good service. The menu is traditional pub food well cooked and served hot. Starters are ample and mains are large. Desserts decadent and full of calories ...just how we like them..value us exceptional. Good experience

It makes me sad to write this review as this pub has such character and was where my parents courted but after an awful meal recently I just had to say something. I went with friends for our Christmas meet up, well four out of nine of us were really unhappy with what we had especially as a couple of... More
