Nice restaurant – pub atmosphere. Order at the bar from a varied menu. Tasty dishes, good service. Convenient setting on the high Street, popular with locals. The only downer was that the only red wine they served was merlot. Moderate prices.

Used to eat here a lot as it was great value for money, especially on steak night or curry night. However, last few times I have been it's been a horrible experience. On walking in it's hard to find a clean table - staff take forever to clear tables after customers have left so you're presented with lots of tables... More

Pleasant atmosphere, comforting wooden furniture, private booths with padded seats, a few bookcases, altogether a nice feel to the place. Surprisingly spacious with ample seating and obviously popular as most tables were occupied. The bar is centre stage with a good range of cask beer and manned by very polite young staff. There is no table service so food has... More

Two of three because it was the second of three Wetherspoons visited this week. Food good and served quickly. We were also asked by pleasant waitress if everything alright. The bar staff did seem to have trouble handling orders. The whole experience partly spoiled by a fat gent shouting into a mobile phone.

Tuesday night at Wetherspoon's is steak night. Guess what? Went last Tuesday evening at 7.45pm and they were out of their main attraction, the Aberdeen Angus. Despondent yes but, being a real ale lover, you can always choose from one of the eight on display can't you? Oh dear, not this night. Only two left, one of which was ghastly,... More

The County isn't your run of the mill Wetherspoons pub, I generally find that they are quite dire places full of drop outs and wasters, but this pub is great, a real mix of people the food is great value, I would recommend the gammon its chargrilled and the great BBQ smoky flavour really comes through and it comes with... We often have lunch here when shopping in Ashford. Naturally I haven't bothered to write another review since my last one nearly two years ago. Having had a particularly pleasant visit a couple of days ago, I felt it was really time I did. For what it is, we just can't fault it, and we have had a great number... More

OK, so its called the "County Hotel" but it isn't a hotel, which is a shame because it was once and would make a fine place to stay now but I asked, there are no plans. It is right in the centre of town with easy walking distance to the shops and about 15 minutes from the international rail station.... More

Good points: nice beer garden, large venue with lots of seating, food was nice and hot when served. Bad points: staff serving people out of turn at the bar, and the whole place was a bit scruffy and in need of a refurbishment. Overall: great value for money but not wow.

Had an excellent value lunch. It tasted better than a lot of other places which are more expensive. Even better was the cheapness of the quality wine available.
