Description: In the ancient parish of Brook, under the ridge of the Brabourne downs sits a gem of an inn, The Honest Miller. This village inn, built in 1609, was for many years a meeting place for countrymen out pigeon shooting and hare coursing. It was also where the local hunt would meet, waiting on horseback to receive their mulled wine and spirits.Today, in this historic atmosphere, the attractions are a little different. Sit in the beautiful old English beer garden sipping quality real ale, or enjoy a ploughman’s lunch among the free range chickens. The beer garden is ideal for children, with a resident Shetland pony, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep and ducks.Inside, the inn oozes charm, with an open log fire and friendly welcome. It’s a romantic spot for couples to enjoy a candlelit dinner. Walkers and cyclists are also valued customers, along with their dogs. The kitchen is the hearts of this place – you need look no further for a superior home-made meal. Melt-in-the-mouth Romney Marsh lamb shanks, slow roasted and served with leek and rosemary gravy are just one of the delights on offer. Start with roasted butternut & vegetable soup, or creamy goat’s cheese with roasted peppers. Try our rack of Pork belly ribs with hickory barbecue sauce and homemade chips or Haddock with a mature cheddar & herb crumble topping. Desserts include Italian tiramisu, with Madeira and mascarpone, apple blackberry crumble, bread and butter pudding and lemon meringue pie. There are also vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes.

The Honest Miller is the most accommodating pub/restaurant that my family and I have ever been to. 2 of the family have intolerances (one has a dairy intolerance and one has a wheat/gluten intolerance). I phoned on the day of my daughter's birthday to see what may be suitable on the menu; by far the most helpful person/chef. He was... More

Came across this gastropub after day shopping and was greeted by an amazing welcome from behind the bar great service and the food just got better with each bite! The Honest Miller has provided a great meal at an honest price. The pork bellie was super and the dauphinois potato dish hit the spot on a cold December evening. The log burning stove glowed to warm the good feelings and experience. Brothers Steve and Lee are working hard to make the Honest Miller a welcome hotspot to the Kent... More

2 brothers have recently taken over the Honest Miller, and it is clear they are passionate about serving proper home made food! We both tried the steak burger, wow! A proper, dense burger, no grease, delicious! Served in a tasty bun with cheese and bacon, a large onion ring, fresh salad and tasty chips! We shared the Bakewell tart for... More

We visited here for the third time on 9th November...two were for Sunday roasts, and once for a ribeye steak meal; all on Groupon deals. The food on each occasion was well presented and very tasty, although on the last two visits a lot of the menu items were unavailable. We discovered that this was because the pub was changing... Thank you for a great night on Saturday. It has to be said that the band were great and a major contribution to the night. However, the warm hospitality and great food really made the evening a success for us.......we will be back very soon.....

Really enjoyed our two meals at Honest Miller. They had a Pheasant Burger as one of the Specials which was well cooked and very enjoyable. Did not have room for dessert or starter. Very good value and a good location to use Tastecard.
