Description: In the ancient parish of Brook, under the ridge of the Brabourne downs...
In the ancient parish of Brook, under the ridge of the Brabourne downs sits a gem of an inn, The Honest Miller. This village inn, built in 1609, was for many years a meeting place for countrymen out pigeon shooting and hare coursing. It was also where the local hunt would meet, waiting on horseback to receive their mulled wine and spirits.Today, in this historic atmosphere, the attractions are a little different. Sit in the beautiful old English beer garden sipping quality real ale, or enjoy a ploughman’s lunch among the free range chickens. The beer garden is ideal for children, with a resident Shetland pony, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep and ducks.Inside, the inn oozes charm, with an open log fire and friendly welcome. It’s a romantic spot for couples to enjoy a candlelit dinner. Walkers and cyclists are also valued customers, along with their dogs. The kitchen is the hearts of this place – you need look no further for a superior home-made meal. Melt-in-the-mouth Romney Marsh lamb shanks, slow roasted and served with leek and rosemary gravy are just one of the delights on offer. Start with roasted butternut & vegetable soup, or creamy goat’s cheese with roasted peppers. Try our rack of Pork belly ribs with hickory barbecue sauce and homemade chips or Haddock with a mature cheddar & herb crumble topping. Desserts include Italian tiramisu, with Madeira and mascarpone, apple blackberry crumble, bread and butter pudding and lemon meringue pie. There are also vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes.

Visited the Honest Miller on 2nd of September with a group of friends for lunch. We had a lovely warm welcome when we arrived and ordered drinks at the bar. They had a wide choice. We ordered food at the bar and it came out quick, fresh and nicely presented. The staff were all friendly and we ended up staying... More

And we both had the sirloin steak cooked to perfection and good quality beef. We didn't have a dessert as... More

Couldn't have put that title in for my last review! Pub has changed hands a bit too much recently. Food is getting better. Seems the old regime had signed up with the Gourmet Society to attract bookings. No GS references onsite now. OK so GS is just a way of offering discounts to attract customers...but is Honest Miller Honest Moolah/Moola/VFM?... More

Good food at reasonable prices. Went for lunch mid week. Not many there so little atmosphere but it meant the service was fine. Good soup and bread and very generous portions. My Mum's skate wing looked great and she said it was good. Lots of choice and some specials. Could do with changing the dated carpet to make it more... More

went to the Honest Miller for Sunday lunch, was our first visit. Great setting. The starters were superb so we expect great things, but unfortunatley went down hill. We both had the roast meat platter - the Yorkshire pudding was dry and over cooked, the veg was again over cooker soggy, the beef tough the chicken was drum sticks not... More

We had booked in for a late Sunday lunch after a walk on the North Downs Way. We were allowed to choose from the Sunday lunch menu or their regular day time menu. This was just perfect for our "picky" teenager! We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and will definitely be back.
