I chose to take a work colleague to the swan which is now closed so we ended up here. Our two favourite beers were off, leaving a limited choice. There was heavy maintenence work going on at the cellar trap door with a lot of grinding, so I was struggling to hear my colleague. I was amazed to see people... More

I had used this pub for many years. Great locals and always a good chat. Unfortunately the beer is very poor. The wine is from a tap and to get them to open a bottle is like pulling teeth. The food, oh dear! what has happened here? Our food was soggy and drenched in cheese. The chips were as soggy.... More

Just got back from an early evening dinner with a friend. Nachos to start which were great followed by a Piri Piri Chicken Salad for me and a Fajita Chicken Salad for my friend. Portions were very generous, so much so that we both asked for a doggy bag! Service was very good and prices very reasonable. Will definitely go... More

The Hoodeners Horse accommodated 9 family members for a local meal out to celebrate daughters birthday. Great food with good service in a busy but friendly pub. Also met well the challenge of some of our party arriving at different times due to work commitments well and whilst the pub demands a lot of the hard worked staff they were up... Have yet to eat here as we have only been in for a drink while out for a walk but will definitely be interested in trying the food soon. We found the pub to have a traditional village pub atmosphere and the locals were friendly and even invited us to join in their Saturday afternoon pub games which really made... More

I have eaten here a few times during the week and found it very nice. But when I went there recently for a special occasion with some friends, it was completey full and very noisey. We had booked a table a week before. And to our dismay they had given our table to another party with out checking on the... More

We had a delightful evening here-the menu was straightforward and honest-I had the homemade burger which was very good my other half the ribeye steak which I sampled too and would order the next time we return-all washed down with fine Kentish beers. The decor is quaint-and for a daytipper out of London it was a great country pub experience with... Our travelling cricket team used this pub to meet prior to the game. Seems a nice Kentish boozer with a number of locals from central casting, including the yappy dog by the door that threatens to bite. Not overly smart, but the reason to come here is the excellent Mexican food. The get a bit phased by more than a... More
