Lovely French restaurant in Buxton. Nice atmosphere and we hadn't booked. Luckily got there early enough, as it was full soon after. I like French food and this did not disappoint.

If you are happy with being served warm white wine, not being made aware of the full menu, and being left with your dirty plates in front of you half an hour after finishing your main course, then this is the place for you. We have just returned from this French restaurant in Buxton, and having enjoyed our main course,... More

really good plain french food. not the cheapest bar/restaurant but well worth a visit just to have home cooked dishes of authentic food.

Just passing through Buxton we stumbled across this lovely restaurant. On arrival we were made aware of some large parties dining, and there would possibly be a delay to our food. We sat in the bar area, which was lovely and cosy, with a great atmosphere. There was hardly any delay to food, and the food that we had was... More

I usually book restaurants with some trepidation as my partner usually finds fault and unfortunately in modern Britain most places make this day for her. Anyway dinner for 3 with wine for £84 and no complaints. Food was good and plentiful and setting was quiet enough that we could have a good natter

On my way to the Pavilion Gardens today..passed by and decided to drop in for lunch. It was empty when I arrived..at 12 noon..but soon started to fill up. Passers by and familiars. I ordered a sandwich with chips and an Americano coffee. Service was prompt and the waitress courteous. The food was freshly prepared and I enjoyed all of... More

Ambiance was great, busy even on a weekday evening. The pork with apples was superb, only surpassed by the creme brulee (a traditional CB, not ruined with fruit or other extras!).

We went today with our family. First the style is a very very bad taste mix of everything. It's below average but pretends to be somewhat high end. The service is appalling; two young waitresse were in charge, but with only 5 customers they were not even able to offer drinks in the first 10 minutes. The menu is again... More

Went here with my girlfriend (French) and simply ordered two cokes with "Croque au Bleu" and "Croque au Saumon Fumé". We were seated next to a radiator, it could really do with a good clean (if it has ever been cleaned...). Croques came after a good half an hour wait. None of the food was fresh. Student grub at best.... More

We took a group of friends and everyone really enjoyed their meal. The chef is French and you can see him and his team cooking through a hatch into the kitchen. He interacted with us, checking if everything was OK which was a nice touch. I had the eel, followed by the Onglet steak (rare) and they were both faultless. One... More
