Great food

Really nice food - I had the trout and it was superb. We were disappointed that they couldn't fit us in for a second night!

We had a lovely meal here and enjoyed the food as well as the service. The staff were all helpful and welcoming. The food was well presented and served. My venison was perfectly cooked and the boulangere potatoes were lovely. My mother enjoyed her pork. We also both thought the tart tatin was outstanding. We would definitely eat here again.

I write reviews of places I visit but have not commented on my favourite eating place in Buxton. I have been a few times and not had a bad meal. The staff are good and are happy to serve a starter and a pud and cheese if you want. At times all the menu items are not available. If this... More

Outside of the big cities, French restaurants are quite unusual so, when staying in Buxton, we felt that we just had to make the most of the opportunity. And how pleased we were that we did. The atmosphere is very relaxed but the ambiance is very French. For starters, we had Soupe de Poisson and Six Escargots. We carried on... More

This is the first time I've felt it necessary to write a negative review but our experience was so very bad that we really felt the need to voice our opinion. We went as a party of 5 and had pre-booked some four weeks earlier. We arrived on time but they had to add another chair to a small table... More

Just been here for dinner with my son, the food was excellent - as always, the staff charming - as always. It's so good as a "I can't be bothered to cook tonight" place, as somewhere to go for a special meal, or just somewhere for lunch/dinner with friends. I am soooo going to miss this place when we leave... More

Booked in advance, for a visit with a group of eight friends, and found the brasserie to be an authentic 'breath of France' from the range of dishes on the menu, to the descriptions and to the presentation and service of the food. Traditional home cooked food in the French manner, with a good selection of wines, coupled with a... More

Had lunch here a week or two back and thought it deserved a mention; the food was good (and authentic), the house wine was good and the service very good. I have been coming here for quite a while now, and it has always been consistent and given its location, as safe bet when in town. Buxton has very few... More

A warm welcome, attentive service and lovely food. Choice of tables outside or in and today a welcome one in the shade!
