Great meal

After a long day travelling from London and detouring over to Shropshire and ending up here (as planned) we wanted to have something simple. Not had French food for a long time and didn't fancy the snails (no bad reflection to them). My girlfriend was keep to try something new as we are in Buxton... read more

This restaurant was a great find in Buxton but I would advise you to pre-book as we did. Booked for 7.30 and it was very quiet when we got in (on a Saturday night). By 8pm the place was packed out! Being so busy didn’t affect the service however for us which was great. The food was delicious – starters... More

I have been on a couple of occasions so far, once in the Summer with my friend we dined outside & again with my family to celebrate birthday & anniversary. The Menu has a variety of choice and I felt completely spoilt, the food was delicious we had gone in early to avoid weekend rushes at lunchtime but the place... More

The best plate of charcuterie I've eaten outside France. Marquez sausage plentiful but hidden by a mountain of fries. Good wine and not expensive! What's not to love? My wife had a savoury tarte tatin and duck and loved them both.

Visited for lunch after discovering this was a restaurant and not a bar as previously thought. Really nicely decorated inside with a French feel, the waiter was also very friendly. We travel to France at least once a year, and it is one of my absolute favourite places to visit. Having eaten out in bistros and restaurants throughout Paris, the... More

La Brasserie was our second choice lunch stop having been disappointed elsewhere. As this visit was 'out of high season' the restaurant was rather empty. It had a French feel about it, being decorated with French advertisements and some Robert Doisneau prints. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Drinks arrived post-haste and we perused the menu. As... More

This is my favourite restaurant in Buxton. It's a little taste of France in Derbyshire. Whilst the service can vary, usually servers are attentive and helpful. The food however is always superb, from snails, mussels and pate to steaks, duck and a traditional offal stew, we have always found something for even the fussiest among us. Perfect for either lunch... More

We enjoyed friendly service, good food from a wide choice and a very decent bottle of wine. This is a popular café in the heart of Buxton.

This restaurant offers good, hearty french cooking in the middle of Derbyshire. Dining with friends, there was a good choice of starters and main courses that you would find in many bistros and brasseries in France. The Tarte Tartin aux Oignions et Brie had strong, caramelised onion flavours and made an excellent starter. Main courses were slightly disappointing. The venison... More

We were visiting friends in Buxton and arrived early so decided to find somewhere for lunch. This restaurant looked a nice place to try and we had no problems getting a table. The menu was limited but we chose something simple that they couldn't get wrong. It wasn't the best meal we'd ever had but not the worst. The food... More
