great place. Love everything about it. Tried the cinema for the first time and felt very vip. The gentleman working at the cinema even came to get me from a nearby restaurant to tell me the film would be starting soon. Fantastic service. I'll be back very soon. Thanks again

I was the first person to review this delightful eatery and felt it was time to give an update. I have continued to visit on a regular basis _when I have been able to get a seat that is!. The cafe has gone from strength to strength and ,continues to be as popular as ever. The number of seats has... More

The food here is nearly always delicious, fresh and thoughtful (except for the Welsh rarebit) and the chips are so exceptional we have them every time we go, whatever we are eating. Portions are good and prices may not be very cheap but the food is very, very good value. All the staff has always been welcoming and helpful. The... More

We had a very delicious and generous portion of smoked salmon and scrambled egg. The loose leaf tea was also extremely tasty and refreshing. The place was busy but plenty of interesting books to browse through as you wait.

We had a light bite, Welsh rarebit and triple cooked chips, homemade soup with bread. Deliciouse iced water with additional cucumber and lovely Americano coffee. Heaven Interesting menu but we choose well. Beautifully decked out, staff really brilliant. Can't wait to go again.

Breakfast - in a bookshop. Blissful. I had the waffles with maple syrup and bacon which was very good. So was my book.

After a lovely potter around this great bookshop had the most delicious bitter marmalade cake with cream . Light and full of flavour ,the sort of cake you never want to finish!

We have never had a Walsh cheese on toast like it. What a disappointment, might be a cleaver way to serve beige cheese served with relish, but in our opinion you don't mess about with the age old meal. The very best way to service this dish is with fresh toast and very good cheddar cheese, heated under a hot... More

For excellent coffee and an inspired menu of light fare (I particularly recommend the Boston Beans) Richard Booth's Bookshop Cafe is hard to beat. This is a one stop shop for culture in the Welsh book town of Hay-on-Wye. With hours of book browsing, an outstanding 47-seat cinema and a wonderfully relaxed cafe, Richard Booth's Bookshop is a highlight for... More

Me and a few friends stumbled across this cute little bookshop during our visit to the town. Little did we know a cafe came along with it. We decided to give the place a try. We were seated and ordered a few coffees. The blue eyed waitress delivered our coffees with such a beautiful smile, it brightened all of our... More
