Most enjoyable

Freshly cooked, locally sourced produce made for a delightful and delicious lunch. It was well worth the 10 mile detour, off the M48. This was our first but definitely not our last.

Went here for a set Christmas meal in December, the food was a disappointment, no roast parsnips and a strangely cooked sausage that no one wanted to eat. At almost £25 a head it was a lot more expensive and not as nice as another local pub where we also had the set Christmas meal.

I regularly go for food at the woodlands! Everything is fresh and the chef is always happy to accommodate small changes! My husbands favourite is the fish and chips as the batter is light and cooked to order with homemade chips and tatar sauce! I can honestly say I have never been disappointed! Yum yum!

We had Sunday lunch at the Woodlands Tavern after a walk in the nearby Wye valley. We hadn't booked and the tables inside were all reserved (remember that next time!) but it was a lovely day and we sat outside. Sunday lunch at £17.95 for 3 courses was excellent value, with a good range of about 5 choices for each... More

Went for Sunday lunch with wife and mother and father in law. Was booked for 330 pm. We were sat at table by bar lady and then given our menu. All seemed ok but the staff have to be the most sullen faced girls I have ever met. When we ordered the food there was little interaction and once ordered,... More

The location is idyllic, just a mile or so off the busy A48, a drive down a single track road to this lovely village. They serve a range of local beers. The restaurant was busy with most people making the most of the early bird menu of 2 courses for £12.95. When we compared this rather restricted menu with the... More

What a lovely surprise the Woodlands Tavern turned out to be. We were just looking for a quick snack after visiting Dewstow Gardens & Grotto. We had our dog with us and were happy to sit outside, although the owner did all that he could to make us feel welcome and we were able to sit in the bar which... More

Would highly recommend for food or just a drink. Wentwood Forrest is up the road so after a nice walk we called in for lunch. The meals are lovely. I only had a prawn salad but its the nicest salad I've ever had.

Went here for a family Sunday lunch. Good food but staff were so miserable - they should learn to smile a bit! In fact they made us feel a little unwelcome.

Went for Sunday Lunch and had the 3 course meal for £17.95 each - had fishcakes, beef roast and chocolate fudge cake - really good portion sizes, not too big for a 3 course and felt pleasantly full afterwards. All courses were lovely and service was incredibly quick. Staff were pleasant and friendly and checked on us regularly. We ate... More
