Service

Quick impromptu visit, genuine warm welcome and prompt service. Premises very clean and tidy, inviting. Good range of real ales...and the lady who served me could expand on each. Didn't eat but menu reasonably priced. Easily accessible for wheelchairs etc. Cosy and comfortable! Very impressed... read more

Having had a good time and food end of last year decided to return. Still very clean and staff friendly but, food quality dropping in our opinion. Cod obviously not fresh with limp soggy batter, sirloin steak poor quality, lots of fat and tough despite having asked for it to be medium. Chips looked and tasted as if they had... More

Had the belly pork and pork loin with black pudding mash, came out quickly, the food was piping hot and the pork was cooked perfectly- one of the best restaurants in Monmouthshire. Good selection of brains ales and craft beers too.

Pub and service are very nice. But the food! £17 for an overcooked untasty steak with handcut chips that were soggy. The bread and butter pudding had been so microwaved, it was rubbery.

A very good place to eat and drink. Quality service and good food. Highly recommended. Very excellent affordable wine list. Good menu and specials of the day.

I found myself there with family in the midst of a parent and baby group of 5 one year olds. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. Food choices for Sunday lunch were good and courses beautifully presented. Service took a long time, but I think that might have been due to the group rather than the resturant. We had... More

Went there for Mothers Day with the whole family and the business of the place reflected its reputation . The service was first class and very friendly with a warm welcome and , of course , the food of high standard yet reasonably priced .

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying a good price for good food, I just object to paying inflated prices for inadequate fare. Staff and service were smashing, but the food was very mediocre, and rather bland.

We are local to the area and gave this a try for dinner on 25/3/15. We were met by extremely polite and friendly staff who let us chose a table and made us feel very welcome. Orders taken promptly and the food was very good, we both had steaks, and my apple pie was delicious. It was quiet when we... More

Met up with an old colleague for an informal business supper - his wife had recommended The Piercefield, I'm really pleased she did. Very pleasant pub/restaurant - SUPERIOR food - FANTASTIC value - very pleasant atmosphere (including an open fire.... We each had two courses, and a main (see photos), and a dessert. 4 drinks between us: 2 pints of... More
