Went out for lunch ,must say the main was delicious I had slow roast beef in sour dough baguette and home cooked chips it was lovely ,then ordered apple crumble with custard .... What a disappointment ,the crumble melted to a sludgy mess with over seasoned apples ,such a shame after a good main course

Deceptively large pub just past the Racecourse in St. Arvans. Very nicely decorated with lovely gardens out the back and little seating area out front, also a large carpark. We've been here on a number of occasions. Their Sunday lunches are good, especially the lamb! Their daily menu would benefit from a couple of 'simple' dishes but then I guess... More

All the staff were very friendly and very patient with the children. Giving the children an activity pack was such a good idea and enabled us to enjoy our food even more. Thank you. Food was good and great to see the veggie specials board.

This pub is on the main road upto the Chepstow race course, and/or as you venture into the forest of dean. Nice wide range of well kept beers, and and good size restaurant serving british pub food. Of note is a Vegetarian selection of more than 5 main dishes which is excellent. The welcome is good and quick (this was... More

Went her for dinner whilst visiting the area. Great menu choice and being vegetarian was very pleased to see a veggie specials board! Makes a change from the usual one veggie option on the menu. Food was lovely and portion size was just right. Average price. Lovely friendly helpful staff and great service. Would return if ever in the area... More

A group of 8 of us had a great evening at the Piercefield last Saturday . We had a friendly welcome , great service throughout ( especially considering we were a group ) . The food was delicious and we all agreed that the sharing boards made great starters for a group. The venison special was a popular main course... More

Have stopped here several times for both business and pleasure over the last two years. Always get a friendly welcome from the staff and great food plus is dog friendly. I had the Salmon today definitely recommend it. Five star service, great to find a consistent restaurant.

Called in for lunch with friends before race day. Excellent selection of starters, we had gammon steak main courses, followed by chocolate brownie, apple crumble, and bakewell tart deserts. Great service. Good prices. Recommend to anyone.

I have been to this pub several times, without complaint but I will not be going there again. It is very pricey but when you get good food and service it is worth it. On arrival we were not shown to our table, the waitress just vaguely pointed. We sat at our table and waited for around ten minutes for... More
