Nice village pub

Visited with large group from work for lunch. Nice pub close to Chepstow racecourse. Very pleasant staff. Had wild boar and chorizo burger which was very tasty. Puddings were great too. Definitely worth a visit.

Other restaurants in the Chepstow area do not open on Mondays, so it was a pleasant surprise to find the Piercefield in St Arvans open on Monday lunchtime. The menu was varied with a specials board. The ham, poached eggs and bubble and squeak was delicious and recommended.

Always a friendly reception, good food locally sourced, with courteous service and good value. The Sunday Jazz evenings give a special ambience to the restaurant, playing American songbook standards at a backgrond level. And one can take coffee and after dinner drinks in the lounge area where the musicians are playing. Check with hotel for for Sunday Jazz dates.

We decided to try this place after several recommendations and were not disappointed, There was a friendly reception, we found a good table in the window of the dining area and ordered a good two course meal. The food was tasty and good quality, the portion sizes were just right. We will definitely be back and it is now on... More

Visited with family for a catch up lunch between Christmas and the New Year. As always a very friendly and prompt welcome from the staff, excellent service, varied menu - we opted for the roast Welsh Lamb - YUM!, local ale and a tempting dessert menu at competitive prices. This is a great venue for small or large parties, and... More

Expensive quality food, but it is in a expensive area right near to Chepstow Race course, Food was outstanding, it was a mixed order of Sunday lunches two of which was vegetarian, usually the roast potatoes are done in goose fat but today to the vegetarians delight they had run out so they had been cooked in olive oil so... It has been a couple of years since I've eaten here- last time was very disappointing and the Piercefield has just not been at the top of my list since. This visit was so different. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the food was first rate. We had the vegetable chestnut roast (pronounced delicious with excellent veggie gravy)... More

Pre Christmas meal for the local Slimming World (yes we do eat). Gang of 20+ people none of whom had a bad word to say about the whole evening. The food was excellent as was the service. A nice touch was each person had a place name which included details of the pre ordered meal. This restaurant has never failed... More

We were a party of six for the pre Christmas set dinner. Service was first class, food well presented, huge portions and very tasty. The cheeseboard was enough for a whole family! It was a busy Friday evening but nothing was, late ,hurried or less than good. Thoroughly recommend if you are in the area the food, the service and... More

We had really not been enjoying our meals at our hotel nearby. We needed some good food rather than the unimaginative "paint-by-numbers" chain hotel fare. A colleague had recommended this place and it beat expectations.. A great welcome from the team with a really excellent menu thatl also covered all the bases for my fish eating vegetarian partner. We shared... More
