Wooden tables with cast iron bases' painted chairs and a warm welcome. We pride ourselves in making great tea and coffee with all our staff being trained in how to make the perfect froth to grace the best triple scored coffee. Tea has been chosen to compliment the local water conditions.A fantastic selection of cakes, from light crisp and chewy meringues to light Victoria Sponges to Macaroons and Apple Pies with pastry to die for.... all made in our small but busy kitchen. We invite walkers in and if your best friend is a dog bring them too ...we have an outdoor area which is smoke free so at last we can sit outside and be able to assured that the table next to you will not be smoking. Closed on Tuesdays. Though we will be open throughout the year.

Good selection for coelics

Lime, coconut and courgette (really!) cake was so good I had to take a piece away for later! Visited out of season and was surprised at the range of food available.

We only found the cafe on the day we were leaving Dunkeld but if we found it earlier we would have used it more. The home baking and the coffee were fantastic with a enormous choice of cakes.

Our family of four went here for a Itison afternoon tea. On phoning to book, the lady was very pleasant and welcoming, enquiring about our dietary requirements. Our table was ready with lovely vintage china. Sandwiches were fresh and tasty, followed by a scone with cream and jam, a meringue and cakes. All very good. There was selection of teas... More

Visited here this afternoon with friends using an Itison voucher. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances on our part, this was our third attempt at booking for afternoon tea. The lady I spoke to on the phone, Fiona, was always pleasant and very accommodating even though on the last occasion we changed the booking it was past the Itison time you... More

I visited with my baby and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was great and really good value and its a lovely place. The baby changing facilities are super! The only reason I didn't give 5/5 is that there's no vegan cake! (Although not many places do have it!) Vegan cake please! :)

Like many of the other reviewers, I came across this cafe quite by chance today, walking in a mini blizzard along the road that leads down to Dunkeld Cathedral. A chilly wind was blowing (up the kilt) so we ducked into Spill the Beans for a cup of tea, a limonata and a few bowlfuls of homemade stovies with oatcakes.... More

My wife and I enjoyed a supper lunch in this cafe between Christmas and New Year 2014. Good quality food and friendly service from the waitress. Sadly, we suffered a bereavement that week. As an attempt to sacrifice a little of what was left of the Christmas season, the day before my Mother in Law's funeral, we went out as... More

We are sorry to have added to a difficult time for you. Sadly we have to say no to buggies being brought into the cafe. We had offered suitable seating to the person who enquired if we could manage 11 people suggesting a mixture of bench seating and high chairs to accommodate the family...we just can't fit in buggies and... If and when I return to Dunkeld, I will not hesitate to return here. We arrived just after 12 noon, having walked around the Cathedral, it was the fist sign that caught our eye and mainly because homemade food was advertised. The cafe was already full and we were shown to a side room (being 5 of us, this was... More

Many thanks for your kind comments and we hope to see you again.....I suspect our stovies were being sold as fast as they were being made that day ....and this can make them a bit wetter than normal.... I'm delighted that you enjoyed our service and our cakes too....we always strive to deliver great service ..even when people are queuing... More
