I stop at this pub with my friend going back to England from our Scottish trip. We decided to go in because some live music was on, as been a real pleasure to listen to the band testing some local Ale and Whisky. The staff is helpfull, smiley and lovely, we really enjy the ambiance and decide to get our... More

Haven't eaten in the Taybank for quite some time, as the food quality had declined drastically. However, knowing the new owners had produced a much different menu, we decided to try it, and were indeed pleasantly surprised! My toastie was without doubt the best I have ever had, actually had real ham inside, mushroom pate and Melba toast delicious, and... More

Recently I had the pleasure of hosting my 30th birthday in this establishment. Over the past few years it's been painful to watch the slow decline of this well known Scottish music bar. I'm pleased to report that upon inspection, things are very much on the up and up. Whilst the building is still a little rough around the edges... More

Been in a few times and it's ever changing.. first time it was Jazz, next an open mic night and the last time it was a upbeat rock cover band doing all the faves. Good chilled crowd and great service from such a small service section.

Dropped in for a bite of lunch, had the beef stovies and a pint of the local Strathbaan "due south" IPA, a top notch citrussy IPA. Cannot fault either. The place may look a little tatty, but looks can decieve. The food sounded great, but have not tried everything. Worth a return visit.

Great atmosphere, lovely choice of beers. Had the twice cooked pork belly and it was outstanding. Staff were helpful and friendly. The craic at the weekend is amazing such a great change in management!

First visit back to the Taybank since new owners have taken over, very busy outside but service was fairly prompt, however people that came after us had to wait for 40 minutes for their meal. The menu is very basic compared to what it was before an ewe do miss the burgers and stories...

We liked the look of the menu, but even though it was only half five on a Sunday, several of the items were already unavailable. I ordered Cullen Skink, which should be a thick creamy smoked haddock and potato soup, but turned out to be a thin watery tasteless liquid. I would have added salt and pepper, if any had... More

I love the Taybank and have been going there for years. I can see the new management are making some changes and was looking forward to lunch there. However the food was so disappointing in comparison to what it was before. We ordered a mix of cheese toasties and mac & cheese and waited 45 minutes... and it was cold... More

Went in yesterday for lunch and they had new chef in the kitchen. Have to say I enjoyed my food even the presentation had improved. Toilets much cleaner and those planters that were on the patio full of weeds have been removed. The new owners are making a difference and was told from bar staff of the plans to decorate... More
