4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014 NEW

Went on a wednesday night for the first time in years. The new owners are shaking things up a bit. The clientele wasn't as cliquey, the service was good and the open mic night music was excellent. It really does need a bit of a spruce up, but it feels like its on the up.

My wife and I popped in and it was like the ghost ride at the fairground. Empty, no atmosphere and empty fridges with not even a can of coke, only tiny bottles. As for the menu it's basically a quarter of what it was. No I can understand having a reduced menu to make it bigger but come on there... More

Had food here. Hit and miss as some of our meals were lovely some not so good. Think the whole pub needs lots of tlc as it looks like it can fall down any minute. Good live music staff friendly and helpful. Nice real ale to. Worth a visit justfor the character of the pub.

The Taybank used to be one of the best for bar meals in Dunkeld but it is no longer the case. Menu is very limited and lacks any imagination. Food came to table cold and had to be sent back. We were told that it is under new ownership, my advice to the new owners would be to get the... More

The Taybank has been on a downward spiral for the last few years but now under new ownership it is returning back to top form. Highly recommend the Taybank for drinks, live music, great banter and friendly service and the best view in town!

A much loved establishment over many years which had great character and charm. Food under the new management was very poor. The stovies which have been the signature dish of the hotel were all potato with no meat and even less flavour. Cullen skink best described as fish stovies with lots of potato and no cream. I hope things can... More

We went there for a family meal and the place was in desperate need of decoration (even if that was a fresh coat of paint) and the food was dreadful as I ordered a tomato and mozzerella burger and it was burnt on both sides, it as awful. I did show it to the waitress who replaced it but it... More

The Taybank is a very popular spot and does get a lot of business. However the outside seating area leaves much to be desired. The flower containers have not been weeded for years and the up top area is in much need of a makeover. All it takes is a little effort. I have heard foreigners with none too complimentary... More

No bells and whistles on this place, just good hearty food. The homemade chips were unexpectedly great. Very happy with the scones too. Well poured Guiness too, friendly staff. Could do with a lick of paint and the outdoor tables on the patio (wasnt in the beer garden) could do with a sanding and coat of paint too. But the... More

This is a spit and sawdust type of place. Don't get dressed up just go in after a long walk in the beautiful Dunkeld Hermitage find a seat and order from the limited menu. We had pie and chips. Excellent homemade chips just as I remember them from the seventies. The steak and Ale pie is tasty and filling and... More
