A much loved establishment over many years which had great character and charm. Food under the new management was very poor. The stovies which have been the signature dish of the hotel were all potato with no meat and even less flavour. Cullen skink best described as fish stovies with lots of potato and no cream. I hope things can... More

Such a shame! Was well known for its stovies, now well known for awful food. We ordered stovies, which resembled quartered potatoes with hardly any meat or gravy, and steak and ale pie. Steak and ale pie was alright but was shop bought but the vegetables were as if they were a day old microwaved, wish I had taken a... More

We went there for a family meal and the place was in desperate need of decoration (even if that was a fresh coat of paint) and the food was dreadful as I ordered a tomato and mozzerella burger and it was burnt on both sides, it as awful. I did show it to the waitress who replaced it but it... More

The Taybank is a very popular spot and does get a lot of business. However the outside seating area leaves much to be desired. The flower containers have not been weeded for years and the up top area is in much need of a makeover. All it takes is a little effort. I have heard foreigners with none too complimentary... More

No bells and whistles on this place, just good hearty food. The homemade chips were unexpectedly great. Very happy with the scones too. Well poured Guiness too, friendly staff. Could do with a lick of paint and the outdoor tables on the patio (wasnt in the beer garden) could do with a sanding and coat of paint too. But the... More

This is a spit and sawdust type of place. Don't get dressed up just go in after a long walk in the beautiful Dunkeld Hermitage find a seat and order from the limited menu. We had pie and chips. Excellent homemade chips just as I remember them from the seventies. The steak and Ale pie is tasty and filling and... More

The price is okay and the food is average but it has a great music scene at night so for a few drinks and live music it's the place to go but food wise there's better

After several nights of paying exorbitant prices for average meals, we decided we wanted some proper pub grub and we found exactly that at the Taybank. Hearty, tasty food, good size portions and some excellent beers on to boot. Dinner for two cost under £25 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Don't expect fancy - you get good, plain cooking and... More

We stopped for a drink at the Taybank, right alongside the river which was lovely. This place has a lively local music scene, and is known to be frequented by Dougie MacLean, who was actually there the night we were there :). Nice setting, nice if there's music, menu not terribly exciting but it is meant to be a music pub,... More

After a lovely walk along the river my husband and I thought we would pop into this pub for a light refreshment and ended up staying for lunch, we both had a cheeseburger and chips. I have to agree with other comments on the chips excellent as was the burger. The bar tender was very friendly and the music playing... More
