Came here after reading some reviews on this site :) Food was really very good and the service was great too. Next time on the IoW, I'll be heading back here for some more.

We've eaten here many, many times - with large groups of visiting families; romantic evenings a deux; even with our bank manager! The food is great - and locally sourced, the cooking is imaginative, and the atmosphere's convivial. The Taverners is a rock solid, island gastro pub ...and won't let you down.

We had Sunday lunch here during a short stay on the Isle of Wight. I suffer from a severe food allergy and found the pub website very clear and helpful on all the main allergens; It made it an easy decision to eat here. The pub is lovely, the staff friendly and the food excellent. We would definitely eat here... More

Amazing food and atmosphere. A place with lovely feeling to it. Everyone is smiling and it's just perfect. We had a really lovely romantic evening there and the food was divine.

Have eaten here many times. We are local but our dinner companions eat here very frequently and you can see why. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming ,although on this Thursday evening the restaurant was unusually quiet .however there were a number of customers and the lack of usual "buzz" suited us. Locally grown produce is included in the... More

We came here for lunch during our recent visit to the IOW. We liked the atmosphere and warm welcome the minute we entered The Taverners. We were quite early for lunch and got a table easily, by the entrance area, there are more tables and seating towards the back, by the main bar area, some tables had been reserved for... More

A lovely find. I've eaten here a couple of times now and never been disappointed. The foods on offer are plentiful, local produce and just that little bit different. It gets very busy, not surprising, but the staff still make you feel welcome and are attentive. The atmosphere is cosy and warm, particularly on a late seasonal day. I would... More

If you are looking for what the Island food scene is all about at a nice, local, affordable, comfy place then make sure you search out this place. There is free parking just down the road. Nice menu using as much as possible local produce. Probably have to book at the weekends ( and it is only a pub) but... More
