The staff are very friendly and helpful. They allow dogs in the rear bar and free bones! The garden is fabulous with a whole area dedicated to growing their own veg. Lovely pub.

We visited here on the 14/07/2014 and enjoyed it so much we went again 4 days later. We were on holiday and knew that Godshill was lovely and the Taverners was recommended in the cottage's visitors book. The recommendation was right. Fish and chips, mutton curry, steak, sausage and mash, they were all great. So good was the fish and... More

We were here about 5 years ago on Boxing Day or the day after. The island didn't have much open like they do in summer, and we found this place by chance (i.e. no internet). Everything about our meal was great, so we sought it out again on our summer trip. The food was fantastic and the service friendly. We'll... More

This is the place in Godshill to go if you like really good, tasty food at prices that don't spoil your appetite. Our stay in Godshill was for three nights - we dined there twice, and just had an evening drink once.

We ate there the other evening and had two lovely meals. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They allow dogs in the rear bar and free bones! The garden is fabulous with a whole area dedicated to growing their own veg. Lovely pub.

This restraurant or drinking place is a little bit different and must be tried, excellent food with a little twist, not what you would expect from a village pub. Staff very friendly and service excellent.

X1 of the party has coeliac disease, we phoned up and booked, chef and owner came to the table and went through all the options available for her. Food for the whole party v good. Great service. If we lived on the IoW this would be our new "best restaurant" strongly recommended

We stayed in Godshill so this was our local pub, the garden at the back was beautiful with a little play area for kids, you can also see where they grow there own produce, the herb garden was magnificent. Food and beer were both superb and staff were very professional. My only small gripe was a limited menu compared to... More

Last time I went I asked for the Burger which was layered with salad, tomato and beet root. I asked for the burger no bun and the salad on the... More

One of the best meals we had on the IOW. Not an extensive menu but what they do they do well. The home made bread was so good we went back the following day to buy some from the shop. The meals we chose weren't huge portions which fortunately left us with room for the home made desserts but other tables... More
