Great harbour views

A lovely evening at Rocksalt, what a great addition to Folkestone. With huge windows the view you can see from the restaraunt Is across the harbour all the way to the cliffs in France. Great waiting staff, as well as great food. The Gypsy tart ..perfect and will bring me back for more.

Rocksalt started on a high and has been slowly drifting downhill ever since. Service has never been it's strong point but today it was downright poor. It was explained to me that they are 5 waiting staff and 3 chefs short, which must be hard on the remaining staff, but not my problem. Food has been much better in the past and... More

Visited with a friend, with view to bringing a large group at the weekend, hoping to enquire about menu choices, and enjoy a drink. Apon arrival, totally ignored by bar and waiting staff alike, whilst all standing around chatting whilst ignoring several dirty tables as well as ourselves. Headed up grubby and sticky stairs to the bar area. We were... More

A real destination restaurant for this part of the world. Unique setting overlooking Folkestone fishing harbour. Menu was interesting and extensive and food was cooked and presented well.

We booked in advance as we were in Folkestone for a wedding. We had a prompt confirmation, and early replies to any emails for further information. Our contacts were Sam and Sarah. We ended up booking a further night, so have tried Kittens, and Fergy. Kittens is perhaps slightly quieter, but Fergy's view is great. You are warned about the... More

I have been in this restaurant three times now for special occasions. It's expensive to go in the evenings for dinner but the food is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful and service is very good. There is a bar upstairs for drinks and snacks and the restaurant has large windows and overlooks Folkestone harbour. You can also... We rang Friday to ask about private hire and were told someone would call us back. They didn't. We went into the restaurant on Saturday to enquire and they took our number, again, and assured us they would call back later that day. They didn't. We rang today and left our number for the third time. We are still awaiting... More

Decided to go back for a birthday lunch with a couple of French friends. All were very impressed and as usual the fish and seafood were excellent. It was a busy Friday lunchtime so service was a little slow but it suited our leisurely pace for the day. Not warm enough to eat on the terrace but the panoramic windows... More
