The Galley at the Ship

Best meal I've had in a long time. Perfectly cooked scallops fresh from the sea outside the pub window. The main of skate was beautifully pan fried, moist and meaty, as you'd expect when it was swimming around not 24 hours earlier. Amazing warm fudge cake for dessert topped it all off. Popped in here for lunch after a stroll along the harbour and beach. Service was first class when our food arrived it was piping hot plentiful and probably the best we have had in a long time great value for money and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Will be visiting again that's for sure. Roz & Alastair.

We decided to try the ship as we had been caught in a deluge. The had been a change and for the good . We watched various dishes of food be delivered to tables and they all looked good. Previously Only Thai food seemed to be on offer. Now there is variety on a good menu which we read with... More

We ate here unexpectedly and were more than pleasantly surprised. The food was slightly above average on quality but the attention to detail and addition of generous side dishes makes this fantastic value for money. Hence the score of very good. Typical pub grub with a huge nod to locally caught fish, just what you want on a seaside holiday.

Just popped in for the first time now that Andy (Mr Baguette) and Daniel have taken charge of the kitchen, obviously known as the galley you landlubbers! If you are looking for a satisfying meal at a great price then look no further. Had a lovely veggy lasagne with loads of chips and salad with actual dressing on it so... More
