Description: The Chambers is at first glance a street level Coffee Shop & roasters but...
The Chambers is at first glance a street level Coffee Shop & roasters but by far the biggest surprise lies underground where The Chambers bar takes over! Either take in the great vista of watching Folkestone town life go on around you as you enjoy your freshly roasted & brewed coffee, or venture through the coffee shop downstairs to the vast area that is our bar. Featuring TWO bars and lots of seating in large group areas or intimate nooks just for two, we offer lots for you to do & try.Our standard menu runs Mon to Sat & offers freshly made Mexican cuisine, whilst our weekly Specials board runs from Tues lunch through to Sat night & presents the best in local & seasonal dishes. We stock only Kentish Ales & Ciders & have featured in every CAMRA good Pub Guide since 2004, being regional pub of the year for 2008! Continental keg beers are very well represented too with Bitburger having a permanent place on the bar alongside German black lager & weiss beer on draught. Music is a BIG part of Chambers life & we have UK & international artistes EVERY Thurs night. Playing mostly blues, folk & acoustic originals, you'll NEVER be disappointed with the artistes playing at Chambers. Thurs night is a fine entertainment bet!! Check out our Facebook for details of up & coming players. Booking for meals advisable though not always essential.

Excellent. Best Pulled Pork in Europe

We've been in Folkestone last week and have been to The Chambers. A friend of mine had already been there, so, ok, let's go for it. While reading the Menu, I found that they do have a pulled pork Burger. Ok, let's take it. F a b o u l o u s! Outstanding service, friendly staff, great!

We stumbled across this bar while walking around Folkestone and had a drink at lunchtime , you go down steps and find a wonderful cavern, lots of character, lots of different beers to choose from, we liked the menu so much we returned later that evening to eat The manager was so welcoming and told about the menu and chatting... Folkestone: you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter and the Chambers is Folkestones glitter. An oustanding Bar and Restaurant, great range of ales , ciders and a little crafty something for the larger drinkers. The food, wow, outstanding. There isn't a better place to eat in the south east. Come in be greeted warmly and... More

On a corner in a nice old building, with decent WiFi, The Chambers has tea properly served (in a pot, cup and saucer) some OK paninis and similar small sandwiches, juices and beer. Coffee is fine, not spectacular. There's an affiliated pub next door. There's outdoor seating. In the middle of the main shopping road, this is a nice place... More

Any parent with young children will appreciate the fact that going out child free is a rare occurence, with such an occasion for myself being last week when we had tickets to see Jasper Carrot at the Leas Cliff Hall. The group of 7 of us were keen to get a meal and a few drinks before the show, and... More

Popped in on the off chance with a friend for a relaxing cup of coffee one mid afternoon though I left disappointed with the cappucino, not very authentic at all, reminded me of the coffee in a sixties cafe; shame really as everything else about the chambers was very nice indeed.

Hi Roman S & thank you for taking the time to review the Chambers, ESPECIALLY as it raises something that should've been better than you experienced on your last visit! Am just really sorry that what you had that day was substandard Roman! As you can imagine, cappuccino is a stalwart product & as such should be spot on everytime!!... More

Although we did not stay to eat, having planned a meal elsewhere for our overnight stay in Folkestone, we enjoyed a drink here and thought them menu looked great. Friendly staff filled us in on the interesting history of this atmospheric cellar bar/bistro/music venue.

Hi JaneE-Bates and thank you for taking the time out to review The Chambers! I'm glad you enjoyed your visit & that the guys on shift that day informed you about the history of the place as over the years (although we opened it as Chambers some 16 years ago now) it has been a site of some character!
