We are indecisive people, so when we received a £7 voucher for the frog and rhubarb we thought we would give it a go! We phoned to book a table for 7.00pm and told they didn't have a table until 7.45! We accepted. We arrived @ 7.30 to an empty pub & restuarant! A few people strolled in asking for... More

The team consisted of 25 colleagues from across the USA and Europe. The dinner was designed to allow us to relax and get to know each other in pleaseant surroundings. A traditional English pub was suggested and I picked the Frog & Rhubarb on a friends personal recommendation. And it worked. The food was great; the beer/wine was great and... More

Wide variety of food; we had the 5 "tapas" for £9.95. Quite nice, but most were not Spanish. The 5 dishes we chose were adequate for 2 people for a light lunch. BUT, £5.50 for a glass of wine? £2.00 for a half-pint of beer? The staff set up a tab when they realised we were going to eat, so... More

Stopped here for a few drinks on the way to the Airparks place and the place and atmosphere was lovely. The landlady was so friendly and her mother was chatting to us for ages, felt like we knew them for years! Lovely back garden and the menu looked varied and good value. At the time we came in, a Tuesday... More

My wonderful family arranged a surprise Birthday dinner on Monday 28th April, it was fabulous. Restaurant decked out with banners, balloons table decorated really well and Paul was in the kitchen doing a great job. Thank you to all who made this a memorable evening for me.

We went for lunch. It was a slow process and took over two hours. The food was average and not quite upto decent home cooking. The portion size was epic and could feed two large people. The main issue was how long it too to get the next dish. You shouldn't really come here for lunch as you won't have... More

The Frog and rhubarb is a typical village pub that serves a wide range of great food! The quality of food is excellent though a little pricey in some cases. Don't drink a lot as the alcohol is very overpriced! We did feel that the service was a little poor as staff lacked that warm, welcoming 'I actually care' attitude... More

Arrived late on Mother's Day and thought it was doubtful we would be able to eat. The staff was very accommodating and showed us to our table straight away. The staff took our order for drinks and food quickly but we wasn't made to feel rushed although we was the last diners there on a very busy day. I'm sure... More

Good points: large car park, although it was full by half way through the evening. Friendly staff and other pub users. Extensive menu with some unusual options. Good service. The restaurant area had been reserved for a birthday party but they let us book a table for five in the bar area, which was comfortable and not too cramped or... More

Good pub food seems so really hard to find these days, but we reckon the Frog & Rhubarb in Slip End has found the formula. Recommended by our neighbours, we decided to give this a try on Saturday night. We were not disappointed! Excellent service, lovely food, fabulous choice, nice friendly atmosphere and very good value. We would have liked... More
