I treated myself to a cream tea - and it was lovely. Although I could have eaten inside, I decided to sit in the large garden. It was perfectly peaceful - and the food was delicious and served by very polite staff.

My husband discovered this little gem whilst out riding his bike, and it has quickly become a favourite cafe stop. The setting is picture perfect, with a large tea garden and wonderful vantage point overlooking the pretty cottages, stream and ford. The inside has plenty of tables, with a cosy welcoming feel and is also spotlessly clean. We always get... More

Now there are a many very fine tearooms in England, and especially dotted around Exmoor, but I believe Bridge Cottage Tearoom in Winsford <bridgecottageexmoor.co.uk> may not only have the prettiest location, with a beautiful garden setting alongside a stream in the heart of a lovely village, but they definitely serve the finest "homemade" style cakes I've had the pleasure to... On a leisurely drive around Exmoor, we decided to stop in this lovely village. It was late morning and, seeing that this tearoom was open, we decided to visit for a coffee. What a good decision that turned out to be. Asking about the cakes on offer, one of us chose Somerset Apple Cake, the other, Victoria Sponge. Both were... More

We have visited beautiful Winsford in the middle of Exmoor many times before and, this time, we decided to book B&B at Bridge Cottage Tea Rooms which we had heard took in overnight guests. We have sampled Roy and Theresa's hospitality in the café many times before and knew we wouldn't be disappointed and, sure enough, we even got a... More

I have visited this tearoom on 2 occasions this summer. It is in a beautiful setting right by the ford. The food is lovely, anything from a big slice of cake to full sunday roast. Have always been welcomed by lovely a smiling team. Would highly recommend and have made it my place to visit every time we visit exmoor.

We booked an afternoon tea with the tea rooms after a recommendation from a friend and could not have been happier. The tea room is set in the small village of Winsford with plenty of outside seating in its garden for the summer. the afternoon tea was one of the best any of us have had. There was a large... More

A short distance off the A396 this is a lovely little village for a walk around. Totally rural with a beautiful thatched pub, a ford with a little bridge over & a lovely church with views. The tea garden is pretty and sheltered, it was sunny but windy on the day, with lots of room and there is a tea... More

We made a few visits to the tearoom whilst staying in Winsford. We were never disappointed with quality of the food or the presentation. The Ploughmans were especially popular, lovely large portions as well. The only downsides were the slow service and lack of stock on busy days . To be fair though, that was probably more in keeping with... More
