Something for everyone here all cooked on the premises using locally sourced ingredients where possible and served in the heart of the picturesque village of Winsford. Where else could you find sausages and bubble and squeak served alongside the more traditional cream teas in a lovely garden? Relaxed? - I nearly fell off my seat into the stream. Lovely place,... We were doing a circular walk and stopped for lunch in Winsford. It being a lovely sunny day we decided to opt for a table in the tearoom garden. We selected paninies which were served with salad and crisps. We liked the variety of hot drinks on offer and were sorely tempted by the range of delicious-looking home-made cakes but... More

This is a lovely tea rooms that does more than a very good cream tea. Situated beside the ford and with great views of Exmoor it was wonderful to sit in their garden and have a fantastic brunch. Having phoned ahead to be excused the Sunday roast which was almost fully booked, we all chose the bubble & sqeak. My... More

We stumbled upon this tea room by chance whilst on holiday in Somerset. This is a lovely little chocolate box village with a little ford. The tea room is perfectly placed with plenty of seating both inside and outside. We popped in for tea and cake one afternoon and was very impressed with the cakes which were all homemade. They... Was in the area with a friend for the weekend, called in for a mid afternoon snack and was blown away by the choice on offer all hand made on the premises. After juggling between, ploughmans, delicious looking quiches, sandwiches and other various delights I settled on a cheddar ploughmans which was served with gorgeous fresh bread and tasty pickles.... Set by the village ford across the brook, amidst pretty cottages and with glorious sunshine - what better place to stop for lunch to rest the aching bones on a 5 mile walk. I haven't looked at previous reviews but I'm sure they all tell the same. Delicious food, delightfully served with a good pot of proper tea in a... More

We were staying overnight at Bridge Cottage tearooms in Winsford Somerset. Rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. En-suite bathrooms are roomy, very clean and modern. Nothing was too much trouble for Roy and Theresa, the owners. Incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and a real treat. Really enjoyed it. Just wish we could stay there longer. If... More

I treated myself to a cream tea - and it was lovely. Although I could have eaten inside, I decided to sit in the large garden. It was perfectly peaceful - and the food was delicious and served by very polite staff.

My husband discovered this little gem whilst out riding his bike, and it has quickly become a favourite cafe stop. The setting is picture perfect, with a large tea garden and wonderful vantage point overlooking the pretty cottages, stream and ford. The inside has plenty of tables, with a cosy welcoming feel and is also spotlessly clean. We always get... More

Now there are a many very fine tearooms in England, and especially dotted around Exmoor, but I believe Bridge Cottage Tearoom in Winsford <bridgecottageexmoor.co.uk> may not only have the prettiest location, with a beautiful garden setting alongside a stream in the heart of a lovely village, but they definitely serve the finest "homemade" style cakes I've had the pleasure to...
