We visited this lovely cosy restaurant with Great menu & friendly staff. We had the beer battered cod, chips, peas and it was beautiful....light crisp batter! We also had various desserts which were all very nice....would certainly return

Extra gravy for £2.25 .... So yesterday I have a day out with my parents and cousin and take lunch in a rather ramshackle hostelry called the Smugglers Inn in Blue Anchor near Minehead. Good job I am on a diet. I selected chicken breast with extra savoy cabbage minus the mash and stilton sauce. My father had the same... More

As per your comments on Facebook, to my waiting staff and to myself, I will continue to explain our situation. As your comment states you asked for EXTRA gravy, you yourself said that you were an ex chef whilst in my establishment and therefore you must know that if you want something extra then you have to pay for it.... Once again we have visited the Smugglars with friends, as on my last visit I stated that the food was good, again all four of us had excellent meals. We know there has been a change of kitchen staff but the standard has not dropped at all and if anything it has improved. Well done to Lauren and the other... More

Went twice whilst on holiday in Blue Anchor Bay, once for a drink and again for an evening meal. We selected this pub not only because it was close to where we were staying, but they were dog friendly in the bar and part of the restaurant. The owner and his staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming and... More

We have just come back from a mini break in Somerset. Whilst on our first walk along the front we were talking about where to eat that night. We saw a sign for Smugglers Inn under new management so wondered up a short drive to a lovely looking pub. Gardens out back were well looked after with a nice pond.... More

I've visited twice, the first time it was merely OK, it has since changed hands and its improved considerably, it was quite quiet when I visited & the new owners are still working hard to rebuild the trade, so it's worth giving this place a go. I've visited considerably worse.

The pub in itself is fine. Service was ok at the bar, and we were given a brief history of the building, that maybe the current owner could write up so people can read it. It was a Monastery and is at least 300 years old, has been a pub twice and a private house, and an evacuee shelter etc.... More

We do apologise that your meal was not to your satisfaction. These allegations have not crossed our ears before and we (the two managers) eat in the premises almost every evening. We have both had the meals that you sampled and found them very enjoyable. I know for a fact and can assure you that from working in the kitchen... More

Ate here a few days back. My husband said it was the best steak he'd ever had, Kids meals were good sized portions :) But vegetarian choice wasn't impressive- Mac n cheese for about £9, veggy burger, pea and mint risotto didn't take my fancy. The specials board had veggy sausages, if had these here back in March when it... More
