Have visited the Cellar Bar before and enjoyed a friendly atmosphere. Again, although having a new manager, we found the bar man and other customers, locals, to be friendly and welcoming.

Popped in for a drink whilst staying at a cottage in Dunster, it was a lovely sunny afternoon so we sat in the Beer Garden out the back with our dog, friendly barman, will go again whilst we are here.

Should have been better. The burger was not much bigger (or better) than McDonalds! It's quite small and is a bit scruffy. I would recommend the Luttrell Arms instead.

Called in for a drink while in Dunster and looking for somewhere modest to eat in the evening, the bar menu was the same as the restaurant menu, including the prices, which was disappointing as there are special deals at lunchtime. Friendly staff but quite basic.

Stayed for three nights at the Dunster Castle Hotel and spent some time in the bar before and after evening meals. Most pleasant and efficient staff, good range of drinks and various interesting local characters calling in.

We popped in for a drink. The lady serving us was more attentive to the customers sitting at the not so large bar than taking our orders and had to ask us twice what we wanted (just 2 drinks). We went to sit in their garden which was raved about. Needs a good tidy up. Overall ... just average.

We have just returned from a day trip to take our 1year old puppy to have a play in the sea outside Minehead. Three hours later we have two muddy/sandy children 12 and 15,one wet and tired pup and two adults in need of refreshment. After some searching in Dunster I eventually ask the question, can we bring a dog... More
