Amazing country pub

Met some friends here on the Saturday before Mother's Day and glad we booked! Although it was busy we got excellent personal service at the bar and when our friends arrived with their baby, they did all they could to help make them comfortable. Loved the decor, very outdoorsy and typical country... read more

The food and beer/wine selection was very average. The service was rude and slow. We waited 55 minutes for chicken and salad. The bar staff were distracted and impolite. I have no problem with some items on the menu not being available but I don't need this barked at me aggressively before I've even started to order and I'm happy... More

Broke our journey to Bath here and had Sunday lunch. Ring before you rock up because all the tables were taken. Despite this, we were squeezed into the warm, welcoming womb of this delightful gastro pub.. There is plenty of choice on the menu but the roast dinner is obviously the star of the show! Puddings are plentiful and the... More

Located a little way out of Newbury northward towards Wantage visited on a number of occasions with extended family and never been disappointed. Warm welcome, cosy pub and great value Sunday lunches all washed down with a pint or two of Ramsbury's finest! Great value too worth the detour out of town!

Very friendly staff, good varied menu & good food. Very reasonable priced. We used this place as a halfway meeting point between Southampton & Aylesbury to meet up with friends & weren't disappointed. Will certainly visit again.

We stopped in for Sunday lunch with the dogs and children and were very grateful to have booked, the place was bursting at the seams. But despite the fact they were clearly very busy indeed, the welcome was friendly and the service impeccable at all times. The childen both went for roast beef, which arrived beautifully pink and tender. The... More

i went here with 5 friends last week and arrived as the snow was being cleared in the car park. The snowy scene enhanced the setting. Once inside was met by the friendly host and staff- the setting was brilliant and wecoming. We had a great window table and had an excellent choice of food including game to choose from.... More

From the moment we walked in we knew it was good. Friendly smile & good ale, we'd stopped in for a bite to eat at lunchtime after a long meeting. We were shown to a lovely table & offered all the specials but chose a light lunch of baguettes - they were very generous portions & absolutely gorgeous, bacon &... More

The Winterbourne Arms is quite close to the M4/A34 junction, but you need to navigate a couple of miles of narrow country lanes to get to it. Well worth finding; it's an old building (I believe part was originally the village bakery), with a large carpark behind (up a rather steep slope). There's a well-stocked bar (good wine list, Ramsbury... More
