Good Sunday Lunch Spot

Small pub in the village of Donnington near Newbury. Good selection of Sunday roasts, with excellent fresh vegetables. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream a good chaser. Wash it all down with a pint of Good Old Boy. Worth a visit and stroll up to the castle after lunch and enjoy the view.

A friendly welcome and a pleasant meal. We did find the Beef a bit tough but maybe I'm being a bit picky. Overall this was a nice place to enjoy a meal and on a summer evening you can sit outside.

My wife and I diverted to this pub for a swift late lunch. It's a lovely looking pub inside and out and seemed to have a nice selection of ales as well as the usual fare. The initial service was great but all downhill from then on. We ordered a steak sandwich and went to the front of the building... More

We managed to get a table at short notice on, perhaps, the busiest Sunday of the year. Having an early booking suited as you should cut down on waiting time. Happily this was indeed the case. All three of us ordered Roast Beef. Although not mentioned on the menu, a small portion was available for children. We weren't asked how... More

We had our wedding reception here 7th February 2015. Emma and the team made us feel very special. Jenny the chef, her food is outstanding! Everybody complimented. If anybody is having a small wedding, I would definitely recommend The Three Horseshoes. Lisa and Richard Stenning.

I've visited a few times now with my grandad, parents, husband and my step children. The food has been consistently fantastic, everyone happy with their meals each time. So far, I've tried their lasagne, pork roast, lamb shank and a beautiful spinach, red pepper and pine nut linguine. Looking forward to our next visit and trying something else from their... More

We visited Three Horseshoes Donnington as a group of 7 adults to celebrate my Granddads 93rd birthday this weekend. Although a handful of the group are regular visitors, this is the first time I had been for many, many years- certainly the first with the current Landlord and Lady. I was impressed with the menu; the price seemed fair, with... More

We ate here on Friday and Saturday last week. Our daughter had the vegetarian linguine because it just sounded really good and she was delighted with it!! We all had to have a taste delicious! The chicken and ham pie was full of meat, my seafood linguine was so very tasty!! The duck breast cooked really rare, as I love... More

Went here for lunch during mid Week. Had the goats cheese and Roasted Vegetable Ciabatta which was fantastic and reasonably prices. The pub itself is set back from a main road in the village of Donnington and is not greatly sign posted so you might miss it but is well worth a slight detour if you are in the Newbury... More
