Lovely food in a village local

Spanish Fiesta in The Three Horseshoes today - beautiful paella, patatas bravas and Spanish tortilla all rounded off with some lovely sangria. Friendly pub with great selection of dishes on the normal menu, look forward to visiting again

Lovely local in the beautiful Donnington village. Had an excellent meal, & truly stuffed! Have been in since it's had new owners & still has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, but not tried the food again - yet!

Recently re-opened local pub in Donnington village. New owners have made the place feel like "your" living room with a truly welcoming and warming atmosphere.Excellent food but make sue you leave room for the delicious puddings!

Popped in here on the back of a dreadful weekend on the off chance, and managed to get a table. New owners, so we had a tester menu. I had Tagine Lamb Shank and my husband Beef & Chorizo Burger. Really good! Staff friendly, and keen to get opinions good & bad. Get in quick - this place will soon... More

Went with my family. Other customers already sitting at the bar were foul mouthed. I'm sure the barman made up the prices of the drinks as each round cost a different price even though the drinks were the same. The barman was the most miserable person I've ever met, if he'd smiled he'd have cracked his face. Won't be going... More

A friendly welcome and a pleasant meal. We did find the Beef a bit tough but maybe I'm being a bit picky. Overall this was a nice place to enjoy a meal and on a summer evening you can sit outside.

My wife and I diverted to this pub for a swift late lunch. It's a lovely looking pub inside and out and seemed to have a nice selection of ales as well as the usual fare. The initial service was great but all downhill from then on. We ordered a steak sandwich and went to the front of the building... More

Small pub in the village of Donnington near Newbury. Good selection of Sunday roasts, with excellent fresh vegetables. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream a good chaser. Wash it all down with a pint of Good Old Boy. Worth a visit and stroll up to the castle after lunch and enjoy the view.

We managed to get a table at short notice on, perhaps, the busiest Sunday of the year. Having an early booking suited as you should cut down on waiting time. Happily this was indeed the case. All three of us ordered Roast Beef. Although not mentioned on the menu, a small portion was available for children. We weren't asked how... More
