Cream tea

Lovely homemade scones with jam & cream and a nice cup of tea. All served in a mish mash of China, which is acceptable at this cute, quirky and quaint little tea shop. Most people sit outside taking in the lovely setting of the canal with the swans gliding past..,

I have eaten here on several occasions, and the food is always excellent. Lovely tea served in pretty little tea cups, might not be for everyone, but always good. Staff helpful and friendly, and they have gluten free items too.

They serve great soup with a toasted sandwich and a nice selection of fresh cakes too. Tea is served in cute old fashioned tea pots and dainty saucers. Worth a visit on a sunny day or even when wet as cosy inside

I've been here a number of times for either lunch or a drink by the canal. Every time the staff have been friendly and the food very tasty (especially the cakes!). The inside is very quaint but quite small so I can imagine it will be a bit cosy if it rains. Outside it is lovely next to the canal... More

We stopped in Newbury for a quick coffee and stayed for an amazing breakfast, friendly tea shop in a beautiful setting. Staff were all helpful and special thanks to Lorain for the warm welcome we received.

On a wet, cold day, it was great to come in to such a warm place -- both the welcome and the temperature of the building. The food was really nice: homemade soup and a toasted sandwich (either half or whole) were tasty and well prepared. It's not often that a toasty has lots and lots of cheese in, but... More

This place is absolutely delightful. Nearly missed it but so glad we found it. My mother and I wanted to break up a long journey by sitting somewhere pretty pretty and treating ourselves to afternoon tea and we couldn't have found a better place! Friendly staff, gorgeous atmosphere. It's so quaint. Reasonably priced and everything is home made down to... More

Great location and very good cake. Quiet and refreshing :) friendly staff, nature located near the canal and not expensive. A place to go in Newbury. If I return to town will be here again for sure.

I've stopped here a couple of times and it's a fantastic spot, the best cafe in Newbury for tea/coffee and cakes, and it's independent! The coffee is really good and their cakes are just beautiful, home-made and with plenty of variety. The tea shop is small and cosy inside and they have lovely outside seating by the canal. My most...
