lovely alternate tea shop

Loved the choice of teas and cakes ! It was so busy, its popular with locals and visitors. There's more seating upstairs and outside right on the edge of the canal which is nice in the summer.

Great location and very good cake. Quiet and refreshing :) friendly staff, nature located near the canal and not expensive. A place to go in Newbury. If I return to town will be here again for sure.

I've stopped here a couple of times and it's a fantastic spot, the best cafe in Newbury for tea/coffee and cakes, and it's independent! The coffee is really good and their cakes are just beautiful, home-made and with plenty of variety. The tea shop is small and cosy inside and they have lovely outside seating by the canal. My most... It could not have been the more perfect stop for three of us who had cycled from Southampton. We arrived on a sunny Sunday in March, and could place our orders at the counter promptly. Excellent food: not only the main fare (club sandwiches, scrambled eggs on a muffin) but also the side salad: fresh, tasty, and full of variety... More

Stopped by this place as we stumbled by it while out walking along the canal, so it is not in the town centre, we had Afternoon tea, great sandwiches and scones were just lovely. It was nice to sit outside and watch the barges on the canal go bye. We will definitely come back again.

The sandwiches here are delicious and drinks served 'properly' Great service and perfect place for people watching. The huge milkshakes looked good.

I run a coffee lounge in Newbury but when I need time off, I head here. It's a lovely location, the staff are fantastic and the prices are reasonable.

Wow Newburys hidden secret, amazing! Lovely, fun, friendly! Food and drink well prepared, service and staff on the ball. Beautiful setting, hidden away by the library.

This cafe has a god selection of food and drinks, and they are always fresh and tasty. If you can go on a sunny day, and sit outside it is a delight. The service is a bit slow, but they are usually very busy, so you can forgive it. We visit a lot, because it is a favourite.
