Fabulous afternoon tea by the water

The service was lovely, food traditional and done very well with a beautiful setting if you can sit outside. Equally the interior was quaint and existentially British.

I liked it, I've been there a few times. It's an old style tea shop but with young friendly staff. Nice to stop off if you have had a walk, or perhaps about to start on one. Great to have something else on offer in Newbury that doesn't have Sky Sports louder than your company. I didn't see a TV... More

Like this place on a lazy Sunday for a brunch, meeting friends and enjoying the sun in this peaceful place along the canal. You can have a nice breakfast in here or come for an afternoon tea. Both nice for relaxing. Just don't sit inside if you don't want to smell like fried oil afterwards :)

Enjoyed a cooked breakfast in this quaint little tea shop next to the canal. A bit on the pricey side but very tasty nonetheless. Can imagine that this place would be lovely in the summertime to sit outside.

Poor experience trying to have breakfast on a busy Saturday morning. Ordered, paid upfront, drinks delivered, then after a wait told that the chef couldn't cook the two plates of pancakes that were part of our bigger order, and asked if we could change to something else. Due to a bunch of reasons that wasn't going to be possible, so... More

Went for breakfast on a wet Saturday morning, sadly not many people in there. Had the Totally Scrummy Sandwich, my wife had Eggs Benedict. They were both outstanding, freshly made breakfast gems. I apologise to you all for not taking a photo, believe me they looked, smelt and tasted devine. I have been coming to this place for several years,... More

It's ok. It can be a little pricey (for basics like cake or sandwiches) but on a nice sunny day it's quite a treat and a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of a busy town centre.

We stopped for a pick-me-up cup of tea, whilst exploring Newbury. Sat outside because it smelt a bit funny inside. Had a cup of tea and cake to share for £7.75. Tea was expensive but tasty. Cake was smallish, but good. Just an average tearoom really. Certainly nice enough to stop in on though.

This little teashop has something that no chain coffee shop can replicate - it's unique charm and atmosphere. The fact that the place is tiny makes it very cosy and I love that it doesn't stop them from catering for people with food allergies. Great place for a cream tea :)
