Had a beautiful Steak here, couldn't fault it and the restaurant had a lovely feel and atmosphere as there was a very good singer/guitarist playing. My husband and I only had one course with 2 drinks each, we had olives, sauces with the steak and a side of mushrooms, the bill was £84 which I feel is a bit excessive,... More

The staff were quite helpful and friendly. But this was pretty much the only good point in our lunchtime visit to this restaurant. The wooden dining chairs are hard and uncomfortable. My husbands fajitas looked better than they tasted and came with a paltry amount of grated cheese etc. Instead of potatoes I picked rice to go with my meal... More

On the spur of the moment last Friday evening, we decided to give this restaurant a go for the first time. The restaurant is very open plan and quite sparsely laid out, which makes it quite noisy when it gets busy. We were given a very nice welcome. Once seated, I had to double take when given the menu, as... More

went for a meal and had the best T-bone steak forages, in since the last time they were there. Will be going again just to make sure it was so good.

Great setting and great food. It would have got five stars but the feeling of being in a dining hall let it down. The music was really loud under the table that we sat at and I had to ask for it to be turned down (to which the waitress did immediately). The staff were great and very helpful.

The website does not reflect the menu offered. It has changed to a Mexican themed restaurant. They still offer steaks but have added the typical Mexican food you'd find anywhere else. Calamari was great . The belly of pork was fatty and disappointing. Ribeye steak was OK - hence the rating. The staff were really friendly and attentive and the... More

Try the New Mexican menu...a couple of Texans lost in Newbury enjoyed the hometown flavour of Texmex.

Having visited this steakhouse twice I have had a good meal both times. On my last visit one of our table tried the black rock cooking which was quite an amusing gimmick, although we did end up with a lot of steam on the table as he cooked his steak in front of us. The Cote de Beouf was excellently... More

I arranged an evening with 8 friends from work and it was decided on recommendation to try the Hoggit & Hoof. I emailed to book and the reply was swift along with the menu and directions. On arrival we were met with great enthusiasm by the waitresses, drinks were served and orders taken. The menu choice was just what we were looking... More

I had the worst bangers and mash I've ever ate, served in this restaurant, the meal was advertised as Newbury sausages with mash potatoes, mushy peas and gravy; sounded great! but what I got was three small sausages floating in a whitish brown soup (that was the potatoes and gravy) with few garden peas sprinkled over the top. It tasted... More
