We're foodies and we loved the Vineyard. We had a discount coupon which softened the financial blow, but we had always wanted to go anyway but often difficult to get a short-notice booking. This is a lovely building, melding old with modern. The wine cave inside is spectacular, the service truly exemplary and in good humour - no stuffiness here.... More

I've been there for a business dinner and it turns into an incredible tasting experience We took the 5 dishes tasting menu to match with wines, leaving the choice of each dish to the chef ... amazing!

My girlfriend and I booked afternoon tea here a few weeks in advance. Even though my work phone was ringing ten to the dozen, we decided to go anyway. First impressions are of a well kept, relaxed establishment. We were quickly seen to and shown to our comfortable sofa. I felt immediately at home as we were tucked in our... More

Stylish restaurant that offers a very good choice of refined and valued dishes. The best part is represented by the wine cellar.. they have an incredible selection of wines from all over the world.

Visited last week for three course meal. Situated in a lovely area and lovely grounds. Despite table being pre-booked, they were clearly not ready for us. The food was amazing, some lovely flavours and thoroughly enjoyed the food. However the portions were quite small. Also the food was not very hot. Its ok if you want a posh meal just... More

This is one of the Easiest reviews I have written for a long time – The Vineyard is GREAT! Food 10/10, Service 8/10, Atmosphere 10/10. Quite honestly I wished I had gone here a long time ago because it really is that good. If you want a quality experience and you are prepared to pay for it then your money... More

We came for spa and afternoon tea. Or rather, the good lady had some oils rubbed into her and I hot-heeled to the rather sumptuous bar for some jolly good Amontillado. I could have spent all afternoon in this lovely library-like environment, though may have appreciated slightly more attention from the waiting staff as my glass ran dry. My peace... More

My wife and I love the Vineyard, and have been several times. We were both huge fans of Daniel Galmiche ever since we tasted his food at the sadly now defunct Eden restaurant in Reading. When he moved to The Vineyard we were just glad we could still eat his food without having to travel too far! This, though, was... More

Is exceptional. We stayed in the hotel, had an afternoon tea, massages, and drinks then went for dinner. The atmosphere as you enter the... More

Having seen the wonderful array on the menu we very much looked forward to our afternoon tea. Met by attentive staff and served tea, finger sandwiches and scones on arrival, we were shocked to discover bland stale sandwiches. I'm not mistaking artisan breads here, both the white and whole meal slices were dry and one even hard. The fillings were... More

Thank you for reviewing your recent Afternoon Tea experience. I’m pleased to hear you enjoyed the scones and homemade preserves, but I was disappointed to read that you were unhappy with the sandwiches. This is something I will bring up with our kitchen team to ensure that the sandwiches are not served in this way again. I hope we can... More
