We regularly eat here on special occasions and have never been dissapointed. The food is excellent every time with good quality , locally sourced ingredients and beer is just as good as the food. This is Yorkshire at it's best.

Was a guest at a "medieval banquet" which was a private function. The landlord has to be the friendliest landlord I have ever met. Nothing was too much trouble for us from the first minute to us leaving in a taxi late at the end of the night. Every one of his employees was superb, not just for us but... More

Visited this pub last night after seeing other reviews and was not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed and choose a table near the crackling open fire, well decorated and lovely easy listening music played in the background. My partner chose a sirloin steak of which was incredibly tender, served with a knob of butter and stilton which complimented the steak... More

We decided to eat here because of its rating. We were not disappointed. Gorgeous country pub. On entering there was a lovely fire going. It was cosy and had a lovely overall feeling. We got a lovely welcome from the bar lady. We decided to sit in a snug part of bar. Really quirky and warm. Our food was presented... More

Dined here on Sat 20th September while on a weekend in Scarborough celebrating my husband's birthday with our 11 year old son. Chose this pub as it was high up on TA, glad we did. The Sat Nav easily took us to this cosy country inn just down a lane from Cloughton. Luckily we had booked as the pub was... More

Went here to dine alone on a Monday night so it was quite quiet. I sat nearish the bar and about three phone calls were made for weekend dining so thy are clearly fairly in demand. Food was good. I went for the trad scampi which was light and served with a good amount of salad and chips. Starter of... More
